Moving the treasures and almost every turn, and managing the resource bank can both get a little monotonous.
If you do not roll doubles, you can do one of the following to gain a new ship – (A) normal resource build, (B) trade in a plunder point, (C) trade in five gold or (D) disavow ownership of an island and remove your flag. The goal in Plunder is to be the first player to reach 10 plunder points. You earn plunder points for each ship in your fleet, islands you control, and plunder cards you earned from sinking ships, treasure cards, or just buying them with 5 gold. All Plunder Point cards acquired by the player must be in view at all times during the game. Players do not take Plunder Point cards for ships and Flags. Crews who have recently returned from the Tunnels of the Damned and then begin their journey through the ‘Lords of the Sea’ Tall Tale in the same gameplay session will encounter visual issues. As a workaround, this can be fixed by forcing the game to quit by using Alt+F4 on PC or closing the application on console and then rejoining your session.After redeeming a crate, players should no longer see a ‘Redeem’ prompt appear at the Merchant Alliance vendor.

The game comes with 6x large square game board pieces. They are separated and not one board so they can be randomly rearranged each game. Place all of these randomly in your rectangular frame to complete the full game board. The game is well thought out.
