For easy reconnection, make sure Bluetooth® is switched on and your phone is in range of your TomTom device. In MyDrive, you can add POI (Point of Interest) files, Favourites and your active destination and sync all these to your device. If you ever have to reset your device, you just log into your TomTom account to sync them. If you choose to connect your phone to your navigation device without the app, you won't have access to the smartphone messages feature. Smartphone messages are only available on iPhones, or Android™ (5.0 or higher) smartphones, that connect to the navigation device using the MyDrive app. You also won't have access to TomTom Services unless your mobile service provider allows Personal Hotspot/Bluetooth® Tethering. A QR code is shown on the screen of your navigation device. Ignore the QR code as this is for Android™ phones only.

Regular map updates are available to keep your device current, albeit at an additional cost.
