So, I'm a new reefer and I got this Tunze 9001 (bought it secondhand, but is fairly new and still has warranty) for my 60L (16G) tank. The type of reef aquarium you have – The density of your reef can also affect how powerful of a skimmer you need. Thanks to its relatively small and low-energy motor, the Tunze 9001 is incredibly quiet and can run all night without bothering a soul. The skimmer is quieter now! The air tube isn't even much longer, just a few centimeters. I still put the silencer on at the end... I did notice that taking the silencer off also makes a difference now, whereas before it didn't seem to matter whether it was on or off. It doesn't seem to affect the performance. If your reef aquarium is prone to accumulating scum and organic matter, you’ve probably considered investing in a new Tunze reef skimmer. By circulating water through a chamber and introducing air into the tank, these skimmers create a foam that traps organic material and small particles. Yet, for it to work, you need the right product. So, should you buy the Tunze 9001 or the Tunze 9002?

Both the Tunze 9001 and 9002 are great reef skimmers but, ultimately, the right choice depends on the size of your aquarium and your budget. If you have a nano-sized reef aquarium, we recommend the Tunze 9001. If you have a larger reef aquarium, we recommend the Tunze 9002. Conclusion Set up was extremely painless. And three: The microbubbles. I've read that many people have had issues with this. Some found a solution, of which I tried a few of, but I couldn't find a way to fix it yet. Perhaps it has to break in? Although it's not that I just put it in the tank: it has been in the water for a bit (but not working) so it does have that little slime film on it.
