About this deal

In the light of eternity, our lives will be a moment, a twinkling of an eye, so to speak. In James 4:14, our lives are described this way... Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (NIV)

The way that I can walk in mercy (for myself) every day is by simply extending mercy to those around me. The person who cuts me off when I am driving, the miserable store clerk, the friend who might have offended me in some way. If I forget that I need mercy myself, I may forget that I need to extend mercy to others. There is a promise for mercy for those who are merciful to others. It is that simple. How much mercy do I need in my life? Do I need just a little, or a lot? And of course my answer is always... "I need as much mercy as I can get!" Psalm 100:5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. The following God’s promises Bible verses are taken from the NIV version of the Bible. Bible promises about God’s goodness Matthew 28:20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Through the finished work of Christ he has adopted those who believe by him we cry, “Abba, Father” (Ro 8:15)! Settle it in your heart that you are a child of God and loved by him. That is why I chose this photo to illustrate the promise that God continues to pour His love into our hearts by His Holy Spirit which He has given us. His love for us is a rushing river of His goodness towards us that never ends. While this truth is more real than everything else around us, it is easy to struggle to actually comprehend the greatness of God's love for us. I often feel that words fail to adequately describe His love.

It helps a lot to live according to his principles of work and financial stewardship, but even when we fail at this, he always manages to find a way to see that his children are provided for. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Jesus promises that his Father’s house has many rooms and there is a place prepared for us with them in heaven (Jn 14:3). Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.If you have put your faith in Christ, put away sin. You are dead to it. When temptation comes, resist. This is good news, but the evil one will do everything he can to fool you into thinking you can’t help it.

God promises to give us everything we need in our daily lives. What’s more, He also calls us to show that love and care to others. One way you can show God’s kindness is by reaching out and sponsoring a child living in poverty. Romans 8:39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. This simply means that Jesus took our place on the cross and paid the penalty for our sin, and we received the righteousness and clean record of Christ.John 15:5 Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Trust him in this. You will never be alone. Therefore you can “be strong and courageous.” God may lead us into dark valleys and call us to hard battles for his name’s sake, but he will be there always. Prayer is so powerful! Reflect on these Bible verses about prayer and let God’s promises spur you on to pray to your Heavenly Father and share your hopes and needs with Him today.

While we know that God is our Father, we also know that He is the complete expression of love. He does not just express masculine love, but feminine love as well for He is the very essence of all love ( 1 John 4:16). There are times when we need the strength and exhortation that comes from a father, and there are other times when we need comfort that comes from a mother's heart.

Today's Scripture focuses on the promise of eternal life and that one day, all darkness will cease. My prayer is that we all would be strengthened and encouraged with this thought. Though we still need to grapple with injustice and darkness in this fallen world, there is a time coming when there will be no need of the light of a candle or the brightness of the sun to drive out the darkness. Whatever you’re facing, hold onto these scriptures on hope in the Bible and the promise that God is with you in your individual situation. Remember the time in the Bible when God gave Noah a rainbow as a sign that God keeps his promises. As He was faithful to Noah, He will be faithful to you.
