About this deal

As if being cut in half by mythical swords or scorched by the souls of long-dead Aeldari weren’t bad enough, the enemies of the Ynnari also have to contend with the Yncarne’s overwhelming psychic might. So while the sword form is iconic, the Avatar is a shard of a god and has no fixed material form, and each has slight variations in appearance. Before we get to the nitty gritty of how effective they are in the new edition, let’s take a moment to learn a bit about the faction’s history. Who Are the Daughters of Khaine? Both these ladies can also ride on a Cauldron of Blood, which grant additional abilities new abilities, in addition to using what their on-foot variant can do. Returning are Bladed Impact does D3 mortal wounds on the charge on a 2+, and Bloodshield, which grants +1 to save within aura range (Which diminishes as it takes damage). The new Idol of Worship ability grants +1 to chants within 9″, which is a huge boon. Otherwise, it’s just generally better in combat, you no longer need to chant to wake up the Avatar, so it can contribute to damage much more frequently. Losing the unbind is a minor issue, but +1 to chants means your prayers will be going off on a 2+, which is crucial to the success of Daughters.

Finally, two for priests. Blood Sigil is mediocre, gives you an extra prayer but not an extra chant (of course), you’re usually going to be awash in priests so you don’t need another prayer on hand, Khainite Pendant could see some play, once per battle it makes a Prayer automatically succeed, no roll required. Save it for a key moment. Credit: Dan Richardson Lore of Shadows (Spells) Do you think the height of the Eldar Avatar will be size-wise- and what about the scale to other models? The heated hulk strode forward through the onslaught, unleashing a flurry of seven Piercing Blows (dealing 1d6+2 damage each ) which peeled the Redemptor like an orange, sending its reactor into meltdown and causing a catastrophic explosion which the Avatar walked right through without breaking stride.Once an Exarch is chosen, he or she becomes the Young King. The gender matters not, and a female will still be referred to as the "Young King," for she embodies Eldanesh, and Eldanesh was male. When the Ritual of the Young King reaches the moment for awakening the Avatar, the other Exarchs will gather in the antechamber of Khaine's shrine and form a circle around the Young King, softly chanting. They will solemnly assist the Young King in removing his or her Exarch Armour, which will reverently be returned to its Aspect Shrine.

By sacrificing an Exarch to Khaine on the eve of battle, this newborn Avatar of Khaine becomes a fiery, animated manifestation of the God, including the blood dripping from his hands, and the Avatar leads the Aeldari army of that Craftworld into battle. As Khaine slew Eldanesh, his hands began to drip with red blood. Forever after he was to become known as Khaela Mensha Khaine, which means "Khaine the Bloody-Handed" in the Aeldari Lexicon. By this time, Asuryan, the greatest of the Aeldari Gods, had seen enough of the slaughter and proclaimed the War in Heaven over. Khaine had gained his vengeance and left the field satisfied. Glorgious (misspelled on purpose), this new model looks like GW replicated the 80s with today’s technology and it is stunning! Even though he’s now crossed the Rubicon Primaris, the Ultramarines’ head honcho finds himself dwarfed by this new incarnation of the Avatar. Taking the initiative, Calgar unleashed hell, but his bolt rounds failed to make so much as a dent. He then pummelled away on the charge with his mighty gauntlets, barely scraping together a single point of damage. This kit comes with a number of different head options – including unhelmed options for a Ynnari army – as well as the necessary gear to build one as an Exarch. Shroud Runners No changes here, not a one. Which, like the spells, is understandable as they were fine and many are crucial to making the army work as intended.

During the War in Heaven between the Old Ones and the Necrons millions of Terran years ago, Khaine fought and defeated the C'tan known as the Nightbringer, shattering his Necrodermis, although the resulting metal shards pierced his flesh, tainting his form with "the aspect of the Reaper." It is also said that this event precipitated the eventual fall of the Aeldari: The Nightbringer planted the fear of death within all mortal creatures except the Orks, which enhanced the Aeldari's deep desire for self-preservation as a species. Khaine is worshipped most fanatically by the Dark Elves. In their society, the Cult of Khaine is the most powerful religious cult, and regularly makes bloody sacrifices of slaves and even other Dark Elves. The initiates of this cult are the Witch Elves, who consider themselves the "brides of Khaine" and are led by the Hag Queens. The Cauldrons of Blood that the Dark Elves use are regularly adorned with large statues of Khaine. Additionally, on Death Night, the Witch Elves freely roam Dark Elf cities with impunity, killing all they find.

If that type of roll involves more than one D6 (e.g. a Psychic test), treat one of those dice as an unmodified roll of 6 (do not roll that dice), then roll any other dice and add up the results as normal. The Avatar of Khaine is proof the Aeldari gods existed and brings the wraith of Khaine to the tabletop. Retreat and charge. Super simple but very good. It gives you a lot of tactical flexibility, lets you keep hitting what you want to be hitting in combat without getting bogged down by something else. That’s it, nothing else, no special battleline or anything. Khailebron to wound rolls with melee weapons – there are hardly any negative modifiers on wound rolls, so its mostly pure profit, but its also a lot harder to buff wound.
