About this deal

Top tip: If you’re working with a large surface area, opt for a professional float when it comes to choosing your grout tools . Work in 5 to 10 square-foot sections and avoid running the grout float in the same direction as the tile joints – as this will create uneven coverage. Whilst it sounds extremely simple, grouting floor tiles isn’t always easy. What’s more, when the job’s not done right, the floor doesn’t look right! You can choose the best looking tiles in the shop but if you make a mess of the grout, they won’t look good.

Finish by wiping across the tiles in a diagonal direction, rotating the sponge to its clean side after each swipe. Before moving onto a different section, rinse the sponge in water and wring it out until it’s almost dry .

A professional colour match finish will make 100% positive difference though! Will you opt for sanded or unsanded grout? As your grout begins to dry , you may see a powdery film forming on the tiles. Once the grout is completely dry, wipe this off with a soft, clean cloth . Grout sponges are intended for wiping off excess grout, so when it comes to size, choose a big sponge if you need to worry about cleaning up a large tiled area or opt for a small sponge to reach narrow nooks, crannies, and tight corners. If sealing old grout, be sure it’s as clean as possible before resealing it. Otherwise, you’ll trap dirt and stains beneath the sealer. Of course, you can also use this easy-to-apply, fast-drying grout sealer spray on existing grout. It won't change the appearance or leave haze on the surrounding tile, whether that's natural stone, ceramic or porcelain tile, or masonry. As a bonus, the product sprays on without much over-spray and requires very little cleanup. Make sure you thoroughly wipe the tiles after grouting so that when the grout dries, the tiles remain clean. Regrouting your tiles is easier than you think! Do-it-yourself with elbow grease and a grout rake, or with one of these off-the-shelf products. 1. Protect the area

Have the necessary tools for this DIY project lined up before you start—you’ll save time and frustration. Let the sealer dry for the time recommended by the manufacturer. This is typically anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.

Adding a sealant to grout will increase its longevity and help it stay looking good for longer. A grout sealant helps protect the grout from general wear and tear, keeps it cleaner for longer and will stop it absorbing water. Keeping water out will help protect against stains and stop mildew and mould forming, too. Grout isn't only for the indoors; if you have an outdoor kitchen, counter, built-in fireplace or fire pit, or a tiled decorative trim, then you need a sealer that can keep the grout looking its best. For those situations, it's hard to go wrong with Serveon Sealants H2Seal All-Purpose Stone Sealer. This water-based, low VOC sealer dries clear, leaving your grout's color unchanged but providing excellent protection against damage from water—even saltwater—stains, and general grunge. You can chip out old grout with a hammer and screwdriver but a grout removal tool is a better option. This has a metal blade with a rough edge. Place on the tile grout and use a sawing motion and angle left and right to remove the grout.
