About this deal

One of the main reasons people choose a robot vacuum cleaner is because of its ability to clean hard floors. This feature makes it ideal for homes with carpets, rugs, and other floor coverings. My flat is mainly hard floors with rugs, mats and one carpeted room. The iRobot Roomba i5+ is able to navigate and learn its way around the space, creating maps as it does so. It cleans in neat rows, gently bumping into things to figure out where to stop or turn. Currently, the best level of navigational smartness for Roombas is called iAdapt 3.0. Those vacuums understand their surroundings and can build a seemingly logical path for their cleaning tasks.

For other parts, it is pretty much equivalent to i7, meaning that it is an overall superb vacuum - but an expensive one. If you're buying your first robovac and just want to try a cheap one first, the Roomba 670 series is a good option there. Basically, that column tells you how "smart" the vacuum is when it is doing its vacuuming job. Smarter the vacuum is, the better it "understands" your house's floorplan and better it can navigate in your house.

As a product itself, it doesn't use any of the existing Roomba parts, like batteries, brushes, wheels, etc. The size of your space, along with the type of flooring you have and the amount of furniture you’ve got, all play a role in choosing a Roomba. Different classes of Roomba are capable of mapping and cleaning differently-sized areas, so if you’ve got a huge home to clean, you’ll want to be sure and get a Roomba that has both the mapping capabilities and battery life to handle it. All current Roombas are capable of cleaning both carpeted and hardwood floors and transitioning between them, but some do so better than others. If you’ve got high-pile rugs, for instance, you’ll want something with greater suction power that’s capable of lifting dirt from deep in the rug. Finally, if your space is cluttered with furniture and other obstacles, you’ll probably want a Roomba with smart mapping and obstacle avoidance since it will learn your space, know where to go and ultimately clean more efficiently. Pets Using this, you can set where you want the Roomba to focus on cleaning — ideal if there’s an unexpected mess. That is to say: Roomba 675 is exactly the same device as Roomba 676 is. The last number only indicates that some small details might differ: typically the last number indicates the color but it can simply be a way to determine which retailing giant has exclusive right to sell the specific model - model still being exactly the same as everyone else has, but the last number differs. Sure, in some cases models that have different last numbers might carry a different set of bundled accessories: one model might come with one replacement brush, another one with two. But the vacuum is always the same if the two first numbers match. If all robot vacuums were the same, then there would simply be one Roomba model that would suit everyone. But, as you can see from the plethora of models on offer, that isn’t the case. There are a few factors that should be considered before purchasing your Roomba, which are laid out below. Living Space

Patented Dirt Detect™ Technology allows the Roomba Combo® i5/i5+ robot to detect dirtier areas of your home and clean them more thoroughly when the Vacuum Bin is installed. You will find this feature on pretty much every robot vacuum with Wi-Fi connectivity. Once it’s connected to your phone, you can set up cleaning schedules to best suit your routine. The i7 series is Roomba's former flagship robovac. And in our opinion, it is still the best Roomba you can get, even better than its successor, the s9.Simply pair Roomba Combo® i5+ robot vacuum & mop with Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant-enabled devices 3 and tell it to clean the kitchen, living room, or every room.

I’ve still got to give it a chance to learn the complete map for my flat so that it will cover the bedroom, hallway and bathroom. Partly my fault that I haven’t tidied up enough to do that but when I do, I’m pretty sure it’ll be a solid 9/10 (…add a robot mop to my smart home ecosystem and it’d be 10). Hybrid models are available which can mop as well as vacuum. In our experience, these generally aren’t as good as dedicated models though. As mentioned, it covers all floor types. In my open plan living space, I have hard floors, a large rug and a large indoor cycling mat under my turbo trainer and bike. It navigates across all of these with ease. Want to be able to tell your bot exactly which rooms to clean? Consider the Roomba j7+, s9+, the Roomba i7+, or the Braava jet m6. All of them use advanced camera navigation, allowing them to create and save accurate maps of your home. From there, you can customize a map by naming specific rooms and creating no-go zones to keep the robot from pushing Fido’s food bowl across the floor. It’s hard to articulate how it gets into corners, but it does. The fact it works ini straight lines helps and also the way it circles itself in the corner allowing the brushes to reach.Key Features: 10x suction power, auto-lifting mop, voice control through virtual assistants, room mapping, pet waste detection, advanced obstacle avoidance, iRobot OS automatic updates, automatic emptying, Dirt Detective dirt detection, auto-fill mop, SmartScrub mopping These models are old Roomba models, phased out years ago. They're still sold at some retailers, but they originate from the year 2017 or earlier. As we haven't reviewed these models and as they're already end-of-life models, we aren't going to go into their specs or details here. The same applies to older 900 series models, like Roomba 960 series.

However, there's an exception to this rule: Roomba's 600 series, with low digits, where all the models are the same: Roomba 605 is the same as 606 or 620 or 616. Clear, right? Pulls in the everyday dirt and debris with a 4-Stage Cleaning System, featuring unique Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes that adjust to different floor types and avoid getting tangled with pet hair. Now, here, it is good to remember that the self-emptying dustbin feature comes with the "plus models" only. So, i3+ can empty its own dustbin, but i3 can't. Otherwise, these two models are identical. And the dustbin feature can be upgraded to i3 separately, but it will cost more than the difference in the price of i3 and i3+. Fill the Roomba Combo® Bin's tank with a compatible cleaning solution 2 of your choice or just water and instantly transform your robot into a vacuuming and wet mopping robot that leaves your home fresh and clean. Most Roomba vacuums come with Wi-Fi connectivity. With this, you can connect your vacuum to your smartphone, which allows you to better monitor and control it.

The m6 is at the top of our list of the best robot mops; as we found in our Braava jet m6 review, it was the best at both mopping and sweeping, and all of its smarts made it the easiest to use, too. Has limited mapping functionality: shows the areas it has cleaned, but map can't be edited and doesn't support room-specific cleaning.
