First revealed at the Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2021 expo, Ultimetal Galvatron is a highly articulated 12" figure made extensively from die-cast metal. And by "extensively," we mean about 4 pounds of it. This figure has fewer moving parts and action features than its assortment-partner Ultimetal Rodimus Prime but reaches the same price point through far more metal mass. The figure is sculpted to resemble his anime-styled Studio OX character model, while also including a rifle based on the accessory from the original G1 toy. The arm cannon lights up via LED. This mold was originally developed for Generation 2, but was canceled when that line went under (see previous entry above). For the live script reading of " Shadowzone" at BotCon 2011, Daran Norris was unavailable, so his lines went to Ernie Hudson.

Arcee looks fantastic, and I love the accessories included with the figure. There are some missteps here (such as the "blade strikes" being grey plastic instead of translucent purple) but overall this is a really nice expression of the character. If you are into the R.E.D. line and Transformers: Prime this figure belongs on your shelf. The retooled version of this sculpt (including the guns) was later used for a running change variant of a "Dollar Store" exclusive version of Starscream. This mold was also used for the Masterpiece version of Skywarp. It was also redecoed and retooled to create the eleventh Masterpiece figure, Starscream, which was then redecoed to create Sunstorm and Acid Storm. The toyline is a Walmart exclusive in the US and Canada; they were later made available on Hasbro Pulse in limited quantities. In terms of the main releases, I have Bumblebee to go with Super7 Optimus. (It's too damned big for other R.E.D. figures but is perfectly fine to go with S7.)
