About this deal

If you want to take a deep-dive into near-death experiences (NDEs), The Near-Death Experience is essential reading. It has a lot of stories and cases about people who have had near-death experiences. It lets people look at the same thing through a lot of different perspectives. In the Afterlife, the story is really all about Chuy and his process of learning to be a ghost and his discussion of his life. There isn't a lot of focus on the crime itself (though we do get to see the killer several times) - but the focus is actually more about the neighborhood that Chuy grew up in, the community that he was surrounded by, and generally exposing readers to the experiences of a young Latino. I wanted to read this book because the topic of what is life after death can be anything anybody could say it is. So I am intrigued on how people can show what they think it is like by using imagination to create a story out of it. Like Jesus, I also find myself in positions were I should not want to be in, and can be difficult to get out of that particular situation. Also I can relate by the challenges he had to overcome on his journey through purgatory. I was on the edge of my feet as you got to go through the challenges Chuy had encountered and overcame, or the adventures of the unseen truth you get to witness as you progress on the book. I feel as if the book lived up to its promise as mystery.

As she was feeling extremely blissed out, Cherie decided she wanted to stay in the afterlife, but before accepting her decision, the beings wanted to show her a life review. 5.) We Are Here to Grow James Van Praagh has been conducting spirit communication and readings for over 25 years. In his book, he shares advice and personal stories from the departed who have used him as a medium. There are many life after death books that can serve as resources to you — from spiritual self care books to thought-provoking novels. The following book suggestions are entry points to explore the best spirituality books and bring you comfort in unknown times. Nonfiction books on life after death This book introduced concepts you’ll probably find familiar: the bright light, the tunnel, and the idea that loved ones wait for us on the other side. The loss of a pet is always heartbreaking and causes one to wonder if they’ll meet them again in the afterlife. Anderson, an animal communicator and afterlife expert, shares evidence that our pets continue to send us messages after they are gone. This book might be a good sympathy gift to provide comfort to someone grieving a lost pet. It’s so important to let those who have passed on know that you are grieving losing them in the physical, but that you will be ok. This helps them in their peaceful transition through the after realms.” 7.) Divine Beings Can Intervene in Our Lives A classic and iconic self-help book, The Road Less Traveled is considered one of the best books for spiritual awakening. It combines the author’s expertise in psychiatry with various scientific and spiritual perspectives to lead us to a new fullness of life. It offers advice on the most important pieces of life, from love and parenting to overcoming life’s challenges. What happens when you disappear completely? Do you go to heaven or hell? Someplace else? Or are you just gone? Soto leaves that question up to the reader.

I've never read a Gary Soto book I didn't like, and this was no exception. In Afterlife, 17-year old Chuy is stabbed to death by some cabron in the restroom of a Fresno nightclub after Chuy compliments his shoes. When he finds himself dead and floating above his former body, he spends the next 4 days tooling around town, doing the sort of things ghosts might do. Different religions all explain NDEs differently, too. And The Near-Death Experience will give you unique spiritual interpretations from each religion’s point of view. In The Lovely Bones , we experience the pain and loss of Susie’s family as they hunt for their daughter’s killer. We also get a peek into life after death, with Susie’s version of the afterlife.

Closer to the Light: Learning from the Near-Death Experiences of Children by Melvin Morse

For full enjoyment, don't plan for a great reveal or conclusion, but simply absorb the environment - it's a POV that isn't very common in YA. It's written simply and well, with some hidden gems in turn of phrase. These lessons are not ones that are forced on us, but rather they are lessons that our soul wants to learn and wants to be able to understand, and earth is almost like a “testing ground” for these lessons. If you’re looking to explore life’s big questions and are searching for life’s meaning, you might enjoy the classic book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. A fictionalized autobiography, it’s a first-person account of a father and son’s motorcycle journey from Minnesota to Northern California. Throughout their adventure, they have many philosophical discussions about the meaning of life and how to live better. In this nonfiction work, Colton’s father retells the child’s captivating and compelling tale of life after death. For Cherie, after she crossed over she saw herself in this ball of white light which felt comfortable, loving and very safe. She felt herself floating around in this ball of white light feeling formless and connected to everything. 2.) Death is Not the End
