About this deal

My first run in Ghost 13 was one of familiarity. The Ghost personality came through strongly even in my first couple of metres in them. When I choose a daily trainer for my shoe rotation, it has to have a plush, comfortable upper, a midsole cushioned enough for distances up to 25 kilometres and an outsole capable of lasting over 800 kilometres. The high-volume forefoot means that the standard width Ghost 13 is more suited to wide-footed runners who need extra room for their feet to splay.

The Ghost 13, as before, is available for both men and women and comes in a range of exciting and vibrant colourways. As you can see, the Ghost 14 and 13 are definitely not light shoes, but I wouldn’t put them in the heavy category either. They just basically fit the bill for this neutral daily trainer. WidthsDNA Loft is the newer of the two midsole foams in the Ghost 13 but it feels very similar to BioMogo. I hope that Brooks transitions to their new DNA Flash foam which is lighter and much more responsive.

Again, if you have a narrow foot or a wide foot and have trouble finding a shoe that fits you well, the Ghost has your size option available. Outsole Brooks Ghost 13 – Full Rubber Outsole Many happy customers report these shoes as comfortable, and their neutral arch support means they should be suitable for most people. I’ve been using the Brooks Ghost 14 over the last few weeks of marathon training. I’ve been using it for lots of fairly big mileage weeks and doing a lot of easy and steady running in it. I didn’t get a huge amount of bounce, rebound, or snap transitions from the Ghost. It’s all kind of solid cruiser. All in all, lovers of the Brooks Ghost 12 should not hesitate in buying this latest update – especially if their 12’s are coming to an end of their useful life. Alternative Road Running Shoes Overall, you’re going to see minor cosmetic retouches to the upper that are going to make the Ghost 14 just slightly more breathable and comfortable. Fit

Cushioned Running Shoes: Online Deals

So, if that’s something that worries you, I wouldn’t be too concerned. DNA Loft is a pretty dense foam and will give you enough cushioning underfoot to basically protect your joints and keep you going on those longer days. I have found it to be a completely acceptable shoe. I haven’t disliked wearing this shoe for those kind of runs, but then again, I haven’t really enjoyed it either. Making the midsole all one-piece DNA Loft and not having any dual densities or playing around with the crash pads was a huge step in the right direction. I liked the fun 80’s style graphic overlays on the midfoot and rearfoot of the Ghost 13 more than the all-business style upper of the Ghost 12.

BioMoGo DNA fuses BioMoGo midsole and DNA cushioning technology for a fully custom responsive ride that adapts to the needs of each and every runner, updated with a two piece construction to enhance a smooth, flexible ride. I hate the feeling of wearing clown shoes so I had to exchange them for a half size smaller. Overall the fit is much more roomy than previous versions of the Ghost. Should you upgrade? Only if you didn’t like the rigid underfoot feel in the 12 and wish it was wider and lighter. Comfort amplified in Brooks Ghost 13 Its EVA midsole will lose cushioning over time while its outsole rubber wears down faster than super hard-wearing rubber like the BRS 1000 found on the Pegasus 37 or AHAR+ on the Cumulus 22. From a beginner runner just starting out, to a marathoner, the Ghost 13 has something for everyone. It can do easy runs, recovery runs and even tempo runs if you don’t mind its hefty weight.

If you want a consistent, stable ride, you should consider getting the Ghost 13. The Ghost feels most similar to the Saucony Ride, but even the Ride has got slightly more pace in it than the Brooks Ghost. So, I think the Saucony Ride is a fairly comparable shoe in terms of where it sits. It is more tilted towards kind of easy running than kind of tempo or interval stuff. From many years of running in versions of the Ghost, we know that Brooks’ most popular neutral running shoe has consistently delivered, providing reliable comfort and performance to a wide range of runners, from beginner to elite. The latest version, the Ghost 15 has been subtly updated, but continues to deliver! The midsole of the Ghost 13 is a dual foam setup of DNA Loft on the lateral side and BioMogo on the medial side. The two foams are very similar in density so the ride is still very balanced and stable.
