About this deal

The Brooks Ghost is probably the blandest running shoe in existence. If the Ghost was a pizza, it would be a Margherita. As a daily trainer weight is not usually a key issue to stress about, but this shoe would be more interesting at 8.5-9 ounces. Built heavy-duty From time to time carriers may deliver earlier or later, or on non working days however this is cannot be guaranteed nor should it be expected. The only time I ever run in a 12 mm drop is when I’m testing the Ghost. While it might put some people off, I don’t mind the high drop. The Ghost 14 gets brand new flat laces which replace the old oval laces. I find that the flat laces distribute pressure more evenly and they make the entire lacing area flatter and more performance oriented.

It has generous foam padding in the tongue, heel tab and collar which pillow your feet. The Ghost really is hands down the most comfortable of all the daily trainers. It’s neither too soft nor too firm, its upper is comfortable no matter what foot type you have and it has a remarkably stable ride for a neutral shoe. Honestly, these shoes are far better than the Pegasus’ I was using before. Those things killed my feet but I feel great after my runs in the Ghost 14’s. There’s absolutely no need for break-in in the Ghost 14, Brooks made this shoe ready to take out of the box and do a 5K on day one if needed. Ghost 14 could be lighterDelivery timescales are esimates in working days; Public Holidays, Saturday's and Sunday's are NOT classed as working days. The platform is also nice and wide giving it a very stable ride. At 113.8mm wide in the forefoot and 94.2mm in the heel it’s above average (112.7mm and 89.3mm) giving it a robust feel that’s not wobbly or indecisive on a variety of terrain. I wouldn’t think twice about taking this on mild trails even, it’s that stable. Consider coming into a store and doing a video gait analysis. Gait analysis monitors your body’s movement and your feet (sports biomechanics) whilst running. It’s commonly used to help athletes run more efficiently and to identify movement related problems for people with injuries who are seeking new running shoes. It does look better than the past version though. It’s a bit more sporty and doesn’t have the odd Brooks external padding under the ankle collar that never made sense to me. The tongue is still not gusseted so it slides laterally. The premium tongue gusset is only featured on the top of the range Glycerin.

The 3D Fit Print upper provides both stretch and structure where needed, allowing the shoe to conform comfortably to the individual foot shape. By using a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane that is bonded directly to the upper material, the fit and flexibility remain whilst cold rain and puddles are kept out. As for me, the only issue I have wuith them is that the outsole is wearing a little faster than I would’ve liked, but not by much. They’re lasting longer than my Nike Pegasus 39’s did. Besides that complaint, my Ghost 14’s have been phenomenal. I feel great all throughout my runs in them, and I run anywhere from 25-30 miles every week. I even use them for walking some days and they make for excellent walking shoes. I did see Brooks makes this in one fun colorway, a killer neon green, good for you brooks to step out and try something new. Night runnersAs a training shoe, it’s likely to be used on night runs or in low-light situations so I wish the designers had considered that more.
