So, a few weeks later, I was suitably delighted when Pro-Ject's follow-up to the Debut Carbon DC—the Debut Carbon EVO—arrived at my door. consistently believable...it involves and demands your attention in a way that is fairly unusual for such a relatively affordable design...this is a device that flows. I'm not sure how many records I have. People who know that kind of thing remind me of those those high school dopes who needed to walk around at parties regaling fellow party goers with the exact number of beers they had consumed. It doesn't matter. Shut up and party. Anyway, I would guesstimate I have 3,500? But, that has nothing to do with anything other than answering your question. As for what I like, all of it. Wait, no, I don't really care for "countrypolitan" or anything that's so compressed it actually intrudes on the music...which, these days, seems to be too many things. Bottom line, though, if someone took the time to record it, I will try to listen to it. To guarantee a perfect connection to your amp you will find a high-quality phono RCA cable in the box. Design

The main platter upon which the record is played should be heavy and non-resonant. The Debut Carbon EVO approaches this problem by using our proven 12” steel platter, now lined around the outer edge (bottom side) with an anti-resonant thermo-plastic elastomer (TPE). The result is a heavier platter with minimal noise over an expertly engineered main bearing and sub-platter. The added rotational mass enhances the flywheel effect, yielding reduced wow & flutter and higher stability while damping resonance. A Stable Stance Pro-Ject has worked hard at making its latest Debut a class leader, but also one with the potential to be a steady midrange competitor thanks to the changes the company has made. The loop at the end of the line slides over the post and is supposed to get caught in the middle notch. I found that making the loop smaller helped to secure it. How was the Debut Carbon Evo Tested?

This reference level pressing does show that the tonality of the Carbon Evo is very good indeed. Instruments sound convincing and it finds the details in Porter’s voice to turn it from a portrayal into a performance. That additional space helps to take these believable individual snippets and stitch them into something that involves and envelopes the listener. Even with the decidedly less audiophile musings of Circa Waves What’s it Like Over There, the Pro-Ject is still a big, confident sounding turntable.

Only last year, I added a no-name DAC (paid dirt cheap from a no-name web vendor) for processing music from my 50" 4KUHD WiFi TV via its optical Toslink output. I hook up the DAC to my audio rig to get the best sound quality available from the music performances (mainly classical music) streamed from YouTube - FREE !!As a somewhat 'seasoned' vinyl guy (owning 1,000+ LPs), I can only tell you there is huge gap between digital & vinyl.
