The Mini is compatible with GoXLR software, which can be used to independently route the mic, chat, music, game, system, console, and line-in.

It’s a small product and it doesn’t feel like it’s there, but it is. Plus, you won’t see any wasted space on the Wave XLR which is good. Das Gerät an sich ist sehr schlicht und man kann an sich nicht viel falsch machen. USB Anschluss an den PC und XLR ans Mikrofon und schon kann es losgehen. Mit dem großen Drehregler kann man die Lautstärke einfach anpassen und eine Anzeige aus LED´s die um den Knopf angebracht sind, zeigen den aktuellen Wert. Es gibt auch noch einen Kopfhörer Ausgang mit dem Hardware Monitoring betrieben werden kann, dies habe ich allerdings nicht getestet.

When we were inspecting the product for our Elgato Wave XLR review, we could dismiss it as a bit basic. This was the first time we saw it, and also when we compared it to other smaller XLR interfaces around.

Tap the control dial to switch between controlling the gain, headphone output volume or mic/PC mix ratio. The Mix5 is a 5-channel mixer that includes one mic preamplifier outfitted with a 2-band equalizer. Since the Wave XLR was bolstered because of the company’s Wave Link, we mixed via the software. This was instead of mixing through the product itself. Even though it has the unmistakable character and enhanced bass of a dynamic broadcast microphone, Elgato has tuned it to bring out a bit more treble detail. This lends a bit more airiness and natural timbre to the sound. Its tuning allows it to be a more versatile recording tool and better for recording instruments on music streams.
