Cabinet Height: The LG cabinet is 95" (241 cm) tall as shipped. Since the batteries are not installed, the cabinet may be moved laying horizontally. Plan for moving this 225 lb (102 kg) cabinet through doors, onto small lifts, and note ceiling heights where the cabinet(s) will be placed. Remember that conduit will land on top of the conduit box on top of this 100.5" (255 cm) tall cabinet. Commercial/industrial ceiling heights are often 120" (305 cm), but not always. See customer drawing #110000683 for all dimensions and weights. Users can also leverage the NETWORK-M2 card (initially looked at more in-depth here). The main screen gives us an overview of the four most critical things to worry about with a UPS, energy flow, outlet status, active alarms, and environment.
With the absence of a standardised commissioning test for lithium batteries, we expect that commissioning would be somewhat similar to that of VRLA and should include the following: PredictPulse Insight is a cloud-based remote monitoring and predictive analytics service. Like the above, PredictPulse can predict potential failures and allow users to proactively replace the devices and avoid unscheduled downtime. Subscribing to the service means Eaton is keeping an eye on the devices and admins can worry about other things. And if you can schedule downtime, users can save on costs and downtime in the future. While Eaton brings a lot of cool features to the new 9PX-L series units, one of the most important aspects is how the unit handles a power failure scenario. The 9PX series offers two modes of operation, the first is double-conversion and the second is a high-efficiency mode.For larger online uninterruptible power supplies, a UPS manufacturer will offer discrete systems or solutions that can be charge either lead acid or lithium batteries. The option is often a firmware setup choice on installation. Again, there will be a price premium for lithium over lead acid. A point to note is that as the size of the UPS in kVA/kW increases so does the size of the UPS battery. As usual, we found the 9PX to be easy to set up and get going. Unbox it, get it a power supply, plug in what we want to be protected, and we were good to go. While there are several management options, we had the network card and that was the easiest method to get management up and going. Truth be told, the 9PX would be fine without these on a one-off basis. That said, for IT admins managing larger Eaton deployments, the variety of management software does add a lot of value when it comes to visualizing and proactively managing these environments.
Life Span: The average life span of a VRLA battery is 4-6 years in ideal conditions. N1C Li-Ion battery life span is 10-15 year in nearly all conditions. Long life Control power: The LG cabinet requires 100V-240VAC single phase power for its BMS and other controls. This power should be 'protected', i.e. derived from the UPS output. Switchgear collects all information about each battery cell and controls all battery module management systems calculating state of charge (SoC) and state of health (SoH). It also contains a moulded case circuit breaker and a shunt resistor. Power failures are a fact of life, but if you are managing a data center or a corporate network, they can be catastrophic. Uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) help keep data centers humming even when there is a tripped breaker or larger outage. When you switch the unit into high-efficiency mode though, the UPS is able to save a bit on power as it’s not always flowing energy through the inverter. The tradeoff for these power-savings is you will need to handle some amount of switchover time. We used the Quarch IEC Mains Power Analysis Module to monitor the voltage output from the Eaton 9PX6K-L during a brief power interruption.

The Meters tab displays Utility current, voltage, and frequency metering. The Output meters display current, voltage, frequency, and battery status. The battery status pane shows the current battery status with overview stats like the nominal voltage and capacity, battery type, how many EBMs are connected, and expected replacement date. The key difference between a lithium-ion battery and a lead-acid battery is the mix of chemicals used in the electrodes and electrolyte within the battery. Lithium-ion batteries use a metal oxide for the cathode, and a carbon-based material for the anode. The electrolyte is a lithium salt dissolved in an organic solvent. Battery capacity (usually denoted by the power rating in watts) should be the number one focus when getting a UPS. A sub-1000W UPS should be good enough for most appliances, but if you have really powerful systems like a gaming rig, you might want to look beyond the 1000W mark. Conduit landing kit: This top-mounted landing kit is installed by the contractor and contains terminals for both DC power and control/status communications wiring.
