About this deal

W ith winter well and truly upon us, most of you hardy adventure riders will still be out and about on your bikes. The cold at this time of year can really take its toll on the body and one of the most vulnerable areas to the lower temperatures are your hands. There’s no getting away from the fact that having two cold hands will really affect your riding performance and could even put you at risk as your reaction times decrease. When I fit heated grips I consider them a permanent fixture, but with care, they can be removed safely and easily, though this does, of course, depend on how much glue is applied. Oxford are top of the list when it comes to aftermarket heated grips and their new Pro grips are their latest and greatest offering." Mad or Nomad I have been pretty impressed with the reduced heat-up time Oxford promises from this set. Although it's been some time since I last used the older HotGrips Advanced, so difficult to draw a direct comparison, I have no complaints at all in the time these take to heat up.

Hi, I'm new to riding and have a Honda cbr500r. Just a question about how waterproof the connectors are. When installed, are they safe when washing my bike or is it best to wrap the connectors in electrical tape or something else?Cheers October 30, 2017 The advanced hot grips are a newer version with nine heat settings. The premium hot grips have fivesettings.

Additionally, the live wire feed doesn’t have a ring connector and even though there are some people who wire their grips to the ignition feed (advantage being when the ignition is off it turns the grips off automatically) and solder, many people will simply want to connect directly to their battery for ease (I’m one of these). To do this with these grips means you will have to have access to spare ring connectors and crimps. Not a big job, but at the price I’d expect a ring connector as standard. Fully waterproof connectors and integrated controller meet IP65 rating to protect your HotGrips® from the elements.

The ‘minus’ button, unsurprisingly, cycles the power down then off, or press and hold it to turn the grips off immediately. These Evo Adventure Heaterz are designed as a replacement for the handlebar grips already fitted to the motorcycle. They will fit onto most motorcycles that use 7/8" (22mm) Ø handlebars. Each grip has an open end to allow the bar end weight to be refitted without the need to trim the grip. The standard length of the Evo Adventure Heaterz grip is 5.12" (130mm). Should the length need to be shortened, they can be trimmed to a minimum length of 4.72" (120mm) without damaging the heating elements. External gripØ = 1.35" (34.2mm). Am I right in thinking the only difference between the sport, touring, scooter and adventure is the length of thegrip? September 1, 2017 Re-designed rubberised internals - easier to fit and more secure than conventional heated grips. Through-moulded rubber gives a strong and reassuring glue bond to the handlebar. A fter testing eight of the most popular heated grips on the market, it was interesting to see the quality of products across the price range. While it’s true that you get what you pay for, as evidenced by the ABR Best in Test award going to the Oxford Adventure Grips, there are some great grips to be had at affordable prices. The loom is Y-shaped and the bottom leg of the Y goes to the battery. I was initially concerned about how I would know which fitting connected to which, but Oxford makes it super-easy with specific 2- and 3-pin fitments so you can’t fit each connector anywhere other than where it should go. I tested this feature using a multimeter and found they drew no measurable current when the bike battery’s voltage dropped through the engine stopping. They really do only power up when the engine starts, so they shouldn’t have any impact on a healthy bike battery. Customisable grips - Grip length of 125mm but can be trimmed to 120 or 115mm if required, with open ends allowing bar end weights can be fitted.

Battery saving mode - protects against flat batteries, so if you forget to turn the switch off it will do it for you! We would suggest choosing the equivalent length grips that you currently have. Longer grips can be trimmed by approximately 5mm tofit. The ends of the grips are open meaning you do not have to cut anything which is great, and superglue is included which may be required to secure the grips to stop them spinning. The downside to these grips is that the live battery feed exists as a bare wire. I’d much prefer to see a ring connector pre-attached but for the price, it’s only a minor gripe. The instructions are on a single sheet of A4 and are clear and concise. They do state that the grips need to be fixed in place with glue, but no glue is included which is a shame. Intelligent heat setting memory - stores previous heat setting and defaults to this at power-up, saving time when in regular use. Note: Function is available when heat controller is connected to ignition. The heating ability of these grips is brilliant. They turn on literally at the touch of a button and there’s no unsightly heat controller mounted to my handlebars.

The grips are not supplied with a specific model application list but are designed for 22mm handlebars and have lengths of123mm/114mm. Do these heated grips come with some sort of fuse when connected to your battery? Thanks! August 16, 2018 The connectors will be fine when washing your bike - however, it cannot hurt to wrap them in electrical tape when fitting - I have done this to mine in thepast.

I can have a Kawasaki zzrz400 performance sport. What are the best grips for my bike, thanks December 4, 2018 Grip guaranteed - hex tread pattern for vibration absorption and durability; knurling tread pattern creates the largest surface area for maximum of grip and control; gripper bars for tough terrain where grip is more important for control and stability. The new Oxford HotGrips Pro are very well designed, pretty easy to fit and offer great heat for winter rides or any time you want some warmth in your hands. - BikeSocial
