Alongside pre-sets for certain food groups such as pizza, crumpet and toast, the Smart Oven Air Fryer offers a range of temperature and time options. This allows you to tweak the timings and temperatures as you see fit, both before and during a cooking cycle. So, for example, if something comes out undercooked, you can easily use the control dial to experiment with various cooking times and temperatures until you get it right. Although it may look like an ordinary tabletop oven, there’s a lot more to this clever multi-tasker than meets the eye. By merging the cooking methods of an air fryer, convection oven and microwave, you’ll be able to cook healthier, delicious meals for any occasion in a way that works best for you. That means guilt-free chips and not-so-guilt-free pudding, both from the same oven… yum! The feature we were particularly pleased to see is the air fryer’s ample viewing window, which allows you to peer in to view your food while it’s cooking. Not all air fryers come with a viewing window, so we welcomed its inclusion here. On paper, the ability to cook two separate items at the same time is convenient and time-saving — no one wants their food to get cold while waiting for a second dish to cook — but unfortunately this fryer doesn’t quite get it right.

It pairs well with poultry, squash, soups, and so many other foods.Good looks aside, you're going to want to know how this thing cooks, which is why I started off with the air fryer classic, chips. I used frozen on this occasion just for ease and got to grips with how the tray system worked inside the oven. This air fryer takes a while to heat up but has a higher maximum temperature than most of its competitors Unfortunately, the touch-sensitive controls, although beautifully presented, were just not responsive enough to be used effectively. While there were times when the buttons responded correctly, more often than not they required two or three attempts to register my touch, and sometimes would take dozens of presses to work. If you were cooking dinner for your family, or just aren’t a very patient person, this could be seriously frustrating.
What I did like about the design was a simple yet effective mechanism. Magnets in the door mean that when the oven is opened, it pulls the wire shelf with it, so contents are easier to retrieve. However, this only works when the shelf is in the middle position, which is a shame. Another handy feature is that the shelf positions for different presets are printed on the exterior of the door, so you don’t need to keep the instructions to hand. Final ThoughtsAside from the phenomenal air frying, the thing that I've really found this oven handy for is all of the smaller jobs that I don't want to turn my actual oven on for. Even though there were some aspects of this fryer that were well made and designed, the usability of the control panel and the awkwardness of the double-handled basket make this air fryer difficult to recommend. If you’ll just be using the air fryer function most often, this probably isn’t the right appliance for you – compared to upright models, it’s bulky, needs more cleaning and has a much higher price than most. That said, it’s great for families, entertaining and batch cookers who never have enough oven space. Our signature touch-activated display illuminates only when you need it. No dials, buttons or knobs As with most herbs, sage is more potent when it’s fresh. However, that doesn’t necessarily make it better than dried.

Breville the Smart Oven Air Fryer’s selection of pre-sets are neatly displayed on an LCD screen on the right of its stylish stainless-steel body. These are designed to give you instant control and make the appliance easy to use. On average, it takes me about 3 to 3 ½ minutes in total in a Ninja Foodi Dual Zone air fryer to completely dry sage. However, other brands, models, and sizes of air fryers may need slightly different times.
