About this deal

Being given the option of a digital connection means that you don’t need to use your amplifier and can take a feed directly out of your source, such as the Audiolab 6000CDT CD Transport we used. The pure signal means that you’re less likely to experience audio dropout when you move away from the transmitter and you get a cleaner sound too. Non-wired earpieces don't include additional parts such as cords, therefore they are usually more compact. This compactness also renders them more comfortable to wear generally. RS 195: Verdict

COMFORT OF HEADPHONES: I'll stand by my original assessment, with some caveats. These are heavier than average. Possibly the manufacturer could have built more cushioning into the earpieces and the headrest itself. On the other hand, over hours of use I've grown accustomed to them and don't notice the weight. And there's an upside to a heavier headphone: once securely cupped around head and ears, it's unlikely that they will wiggle out of place. It's a very snug fit but not torturously so. In spite of its hefty price, I selected this product for two reasons. (1) I am the happy owner of two older Sennheiser headphones. (2) This instrument was pitched as a perfect apparatus for the hard of hearing. Even if the entire system isn't beautiful, Sennheiser at least managed to make the headphones look cool. The circumaural earcups and headband are on the chunky side, but feature ample padding that is comfortable over long listening sessions. The base is the clunkiest part of the design, serving as both transmitter and charging station. It's quite lightweight for its size, and will be easy to topple over accidentally, so placement will be important (The wireless range is just over 300 feet, so you have some room to work with). The transmitter doubles as a stand and charging station for thetwo included rechargeable AAA batteries, which snap into the earcups, behind the twist-off earpads. This model is incredibly user-friendly, with a straightforward setup and intuitive interface. The headphones have a detailed user manual, and the on-ear controls make it easy to access the many settings and tune the audio to your preference. The highest quality sound comes naturally to the Sennheiser RS195-U headphones. Rather than using inferior Bluetooth, the transmitter base uses a digital audio signal for sound transmission. This gives precise, consistent sound quality, whatever the range. The headphones are also a step-up on Sennheiser's other RS headphones, with superior speakers for greater accuracy. Punchy yet well balanced, the RS195 headphones sound every bit as good as you'd expect. This product is a well-made, stylish headset that is very good at what it does. The basic design, comfortable fit, and robust construction make these headphones an excellent choice for a high-quality wireless music experience. Sound Quality

The headphones themselves have a Mode button, which allows you to switch between the various listening modes (but the separate A though G sound profiles are only selectable on the transmitter). Volume Up/Down controls and a Power button sit on the right earcup. LED status indicators on the headphones and base let you know what listening mode you're in.Please note these headphones are designed to emphasize the vocal/speech frequencies and are not the best option for music listening even with the sound functions turned off. They are OK for casual music listening but not good for critical listening. BTW: Although I haven't tried the alternative, I believe this unit accepts regular AA bateries, which in time are depleted, as well as rechargeable batteries whose energy is replenished over hours of use. After using the headphones for a few days noticed the volume in the enhanced modes has improved slightly possibly from break-in. I did notice there are many cool features that I was not aware of (auto off feature if the headphones are set down for a period of time so as to not drain the batteries/the remote operations from the headphones work excellently and the buttons are much larger than previous generation/the volume limiter is a welcome option to reduce damaging volume levels when selecting different sources (ie the Netflix "N" scream at the start of every video!). The Bose QuietComfort 35 II is popular among wireless headphones because of its superior noise cancellation, long battery life, and secure fit.

The Sennheiser RS 195 can stay connected wirelessly up to a distance of 330 feet because of its 2.4 GHz RF (Radio Frequency) signal’s stability and reliability. It means that you may listen to music without worrying about tangled cords and move around the room freely without the sound cutting out.The real design victory of the RS 195, however, is its functionality and ease-of-use. Simply put, this is a product that will make enjoying music and television at home much easier for those with hearing loss. Not only can you dial up various listening hearing profiles (A through G) that boost certain frequency ranges, but you can even shift the balance of the mix toward the left or right ear, if you wish. Beyond this, you can choose modes that further boost dialogue and cut out competing ambient noises, or boost the dynamics of the audio you're listening to. You can also listen in a standard mode that boosts none of the ranges and provides a typical audio stream. After too many of hour of experimentation with simultaneous connection of the unit to a Bose DVD player that uses 3.5 mm. connections, I still cannot get the headphones to connect to it. C'est la vie—but beware. This product satisfies the two most important criteria for headphones: comfort and fit. Because the headband can be tightened or loosened and the earpads are foam, they can bе adjusted to fit almost everyone. Also, since the headphones are so light, you may wear them for hours without tiring.
