About this deal

The strong exterior is waterproof 1,000-denier tarpaulin, a tenacious material used for crash pads. Other coolers we’ve tested have been made with layers of high-density superfoam plus a lightweight heat-reflective material around the exterior. But that material isn’t as strong. Compared to other similarly sized coolers on the market, these ice numbers are quite good. They will compete with most of the other premium brands such as RTIC, Yeti, Engel, etc. While we have come across a small number of coolers that have slightly longer ice life, the differences may be negligible to many people.

Specifically, Arctic Zone states that you should see anywhere from 2 to 4 days of ice life on their 20 Quart model and anywhere from 4 to 8 days on their 55-quart model. And the lower end of this range is obviously when the ice chest is only partially full of ice. This type of scenario is more aligned with our real-life testing. We will fill the ice chest approximately halfway up with ice, leave it in a semi-warm environment, and occasionally open the lid. This better emulates real-life use. When discussing premium coolers, price is always the main talking point. And even as the selection of high-end coolers continues to expand, there is an established range of price points even within that category. For instance, the most expensive of the “premium” coolers can cost quite a bit more than a premium cooler on the lower end.

This design is lightweight, simple, and sustainable. Made of recycled materials, it’s durable and easy to clean. The bottom is textured and rigid enough to stand up on the beach or uneven ground. The inside is shiny, like a whitewater raft, and rinses out clean. We appreciate the minimal seams in this cylindrical design and secure strap attachments. For the smaller cooler, the 20-quart, we saw ice retention numbers from around 2-3 days. And for the larger 55-quart size, ice numbers increased to approximately 3 days up to nearly 6. When testing its comfort, we felt there were many straps that secure the bag tightly to your body, which also allows it to be a perfect hiking bag. If you’re not hitting the trails, it’s also an excellent choice for water activities, thanks to its floating capabilities. To use it as a floating cooler, you’ll simply add air to the insulation through a valve, and then it can roll down a river right beside you. So while all of the features you expect to be on this tier of ice chest are present, there isn’t much more other than the fish ruler and potentially the wire basket.

Why You Should Trust Us

While we wouldn’t recommend it for extended hikes, this cooler outperformed its price point for an extended weekend in and out of the car and hanging around outside. We also found that the chest strap, which is not adjustable, is placed too low for busty women, so beware. As for build quality, we don’t see any weak points. These coolers are Certified Bear Resistant and utilize quality materials and craftsmanship. But the most notable aspect of their quality is Arctic Zone’s limited lifetime warranty. There are very few cooler brands on the market that have lifetime warranties. And for it to be offered from a brand that traditionally focused on soft-sided coolers is a welcome surprise. Arctic Zone Titan Deep Freeze Cooler Ice Retention Claims on how long they keep your food cool for vary from product to product, from a few hours to several days. With this level of ice numbers, you will be able to use the coolers at the lake, on a camping trip, while tailgating, and many more applications. Arctic Zone Titan Deep Freeze Cooler Aesthetics

The best cool bags are solid and durable; the worst have the exterior casing rip after only one strong tug. With a sturdy base and durable all-around construction, this cooler is easy to drag in and out of the car and through the dirt and sand, and it’s easy to clean. We also loved the bright orange interior which made it easy to see what’s hidden at the bottom. With this level of ice retention, these coolers make excellent candidates for anything from a weekend lake trip up to a week at the beach house. Visual Appeal –Ice retention is one of the most discussed metrics of a cooler. No matter how many fancy features a cooler has, its build quality, or how attractive it is, all of that is a moot point if the ice chest can’t retain ice for long periods. With so many different cooler options available these days, it is easy for a brand to get lost in the masses. While having your cooler “stand out” at the lake or next BBQ may not be a priority to some, for others it is a consideration. The only somewhat unique feature is the embedded fish ruler on the top of the lid. This feature is on quite a few other cooler brands’ products, but for some reason doesn’t seem to be as prevalent on new models as of late. It is refreshing to see it included with Arctic Zone’s products.
