Niflheim is inhabited by the frost giants, and is cold and foggy. Finally, Helheim is the realm of Hel and the dishonorable dead. Hunding also describes the Ginnungagap, the void between the worlds, and the Norse creation story. [24] The seventh story is set in Niflheim, and it is written by Mallory Keen. In this story, Mallory found herself trapped in Niflheim, and the only way out was by climbing a tree guarded by a dragon. Mallory taught the dragon some new insults, granting her passage up the tree and away from Niflheim. The eighth story is set in Vanaheim, and it is written by Halfborn Gunderson. In this story, Halfborn needed dragon scales to make a gift for Mallory, so he travelled to Vanaheim, an idyllic realm, and killed three peaceful dragons. After assuring the peaceful citizens that the dragons would respawn, Halfborn returned home.
