About this deal

Based on this data, Fitbit provides a daily Sleep Score between 0-100. Most mornings my score landed in the 80s, although on one particularly restless night I landed in the 40s with hardly two hours of sleep under my belt (or covers.) Fitbit Versa 3 review: Smartwatch features The Health Metrics dashboard and the metrics displayed in the dashboard are not available in all countries. Not intended for medical purposes. This feature is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition and should not be relied on for any medical purposes. It is intended to provide information that can help you manage your well-being. Take a moment to review our complete safety information at fitbit.com/safety. Versa 3 is not intended to provide medical or scientific data. What's in the box It offers more screen real estate than the Versa 2, and adds an integrated GPS, an SpO2 sensor to measure the amount of oxygen in your blood while you sleep, and support for Fitbit's Active Zone Minutes metric (earned for time spent in fat burn, cardio, or peak heart rate zone).

Additionally, the Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Ace have extra features such as stress management and monitoring, ECG, and it is designed for Kids respectively.

Both Versa watches have a polymer case, with a smart aluminum bezel and soft silicone band as standard, though the Versa 2 also comes in a special edition version with an extra woven jacquard band included. There are also differences when it comes to music. Both watches allow you to control your Spotify playlist from your wrist (provided you have a Spotify Premium subscription), and the Versa 3 also supports streaming from Deezer.

Thanks to the integrated GPS, you can see your real-time pace and distance during outdoor runs, rides, walks, and hikes without having to bring your smartphone. This is a nice addition considering the Versa 2 requires your phone for GPS. Fitbit says support for Google Assistant should arrive before the end of the year. It also plans to beef up the Versa 3's smartwatch capabilities soon with audible Alexa and Google Assistant replies (in addition to the written ones that are already available), and the ability to answer calls using the Versa 3's speaker and microphone. Android users will also be able to respond to text messages with their voice, a feature already available on the Galaxy Watch3. I started this review by saying that Fitbit had kept the Versa design the same, and at a glance that’s true. But the company has been gradually reducing the presence of physical buttons: there were three on the first-generation device, and this was reduced to one on the Versa Lite and Versa 2. Now, there are no buttons at all: just an indent on the left-hand side which functions as a pressure-sensitive “inductive” button like the one that debuted on the Fitbit Charge 3.

There are some big differences between the Fitbit Versa 2 and Versa 3 when it comes to general smartwatch features, which may make the newer watch a more appealing prospect.

Are there any downsides?

The Versa 3 also lags compared to my Apple Watch SE. I poked around online to see if other reviewers and users noticed how apps can be slow to open and displays slow to switch, and sure enough I wasn’t the only one who felt the Versa 3 could be more responsive. It’s not a huge dealbreaker, but if you’re accustomed to the speedy performance of your smartphone or other smartwatch, the Versa 3 might frustrate you. Fitbit Versa 3 review: Battery life One of the Fitbit Versa 3's best features is its high-resolution AMOLED display (Image credit: TechRadar) Fitbit Versa 3 price and availability Another great option to consider is the new Garmin Venu Sq. It sports many of the same health sensors as the Versa 3, and many users swear that the Garmin ecosystem is the best for fitness fanatics. Plus, it's a bit more affordable than the Versa 3. Alternatively, the newer Venu 2 is a more premium counter to the Versa 3, though it's priced accordingly. The haptic side "button" is a clever solution to streamline and waterproof the device, but it can be a bit hit or miss in everyday use.
