Every child looks up to their mother and thinks they can do and be anything and that is exactly what Anthony Browne’s book is about. This book is a tribute to mothers everywhere and children under the age of 8 will find it witty and familiar. I really, REALLY, like this book. But 23-month old little-AJ doesn't like it, and since this is a children book targeting young kids, his opinion matters. Hence the average rating. Compare this book with My Mum by Anthony Browne. If you only read the text in the book then this dad is a brilliant singer but the look on the other singer’s face tells a different story! The relationship between text and pictures is an important lesson for children to learn and Anthony Browne’s illustrations often reveal much more.
