About this deal

With plenty of tension and suspense, twists and turns, the author T.M.E. Walsh has produced a well written and very engaging novel that captivated me from start to finish and I'd happily recommend this brilliant book to dedicated crime readers young and old. Special Agent Bobby Dees wird mit ihrem Fall betraut, der sich bald zum Horror eines jeden Ermittlers entpuppt...

Welcome to our world. We’re PrettyLittleThing; the brand taking over your social media feeds with our killer looks and next-level aesthetic that’ll have you double tapping. As Charlotte’s obsession with keeping her daughter close pushes her marriage to the brink, local DI Madeleine Wood embarks on a gruelling search for the killer. And, as they dig deeper into the lives of the people they call friends and neighbours, they uncover secrets more terrible than they ever imagined… I felt sorry for Charlotte several times as her life recently hadn't exactly been plain sailing. To be honest, her life had actually been wobbling on the edge - she nearly lost everything and the aftermath was still causing her multiple problems in her every day life, as well as her relationships with her husband and daughter. It must have been tough for Charlotte, that's for sure!

The end is twisted, unexpected and I guess no single reader has guessed it until now! I doubt any reader will. I have a confession to make. Although ‘Pretty Little Things’ has been on my ever growing ‘TBR’ (To be read) pile for a while, I have never actually read it. On finishing reading ‘Pretty Little Things’ all I can think is, where have I been all this time? I absolutely flipping well loved reading it but more about that in a bit.

Casimere Jollette as Bette Whitlaw, [5] a dancer who is living in the shadow of her older sister, Delia, and Oren's girlfriend PRETTY LITTLE THINGS by Jilliane Hoffman: When thirteen-year-old Lainey Emerson meets Zach online, she thinks he’s the perfect guy. Nevermind the fact that he’s a senior in high school, he’s hot and he seems interested in her. Lainey’s only worry when Zach suggests they meet in person is that the high schooler will discover her real age. Two days later, Lainey’s mother reports her missing. Bobby Dees, an officer with the Crimes Against Children Squad, is called in to investigate. Though most are sure Lainey is just another teen runaway, Dees is not convinced. Turns out he’s right and the case is much more complicated than anyone imagined. Soon a killer begins sending personal messages to Dees, messages that include gruesome clues linking more missing girls in the area to Lainey’s case. This latest from Hoffman is an intense thriller about a very timely subject. I don’t know if there are any plans for more Bobby Dees stories, but I could easily see this developing into an intense series with lots of possibilities. A definite recommended read for thriller fans.” Spring: Celebrate Valentine's Day with 25% off date night outfits, and up to 30% off new season pieces. I enjoyed reading T.M.E Walsh's three books in the DCI Claire Winters series, So I was excited when I heard the author was due to release a new book featuring DI Madeleine Wood.Pretty Little Things tells the story of Elaine Emerson know as Lainey. She is a normal girl except for the fact that she might as well be invisible in her own home. Her mother is too busy to know or care what she does, her little brother can do no wrong, her step-father is too busy at work and her elder sister no longer bothers coming home. So when Lainey is left to her own devices online, things go terribly wrong. With their recent house move and the loss of all of her school friends Lainey is finding it hard enough as it is to fit in at her new school, so when a handsome boy makes friends with her online she sees no reason why she shouldn't meet up with him. For Lainey this is where it all goes wrong. Where she is taken and who has taken her she can't say but she does know that she is scared and that she isn't alone. Critical reaction to the series has been mixed. Official announcement has been made that it will not be continued.

Tiny Pretty Things is an American drama streaming television series based on the novel of the same name by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton, created by Michael MacLennan. It premiered on Netflix on December 14, 2020, and has aired for one season. [1] [2] Like many of us in our everyday lives, Moses must make a difficult decision. A terrible decision. One that many will find objectionable, but yet Moses – well, Moses knows it is necessary. A difficult choice, but a necessary one. What does he tell them? What?” The man wiped his sweaty palm on the recliner’s worn armrest, nodding enthusiastically at the preacher’s words. Pretty Little Fears is not for the squeamish. There was a killer at work targeting teenage girls in the small villages around Milton Keynes. Four girls were missing until they were found by kids in a disused holiday village. The girls dead bodies were buried up to their faces like a Macabre bed. With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an open and honest review..

When 13-year-old Lainey does not come home from a night out with friends, her parents and local police seem unconcerned. Lainey’s older sister had a history of running away, and everyone believes this tendency seems to run in this family. But Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Special Agent Booby Dees, who heads up the agency’s Crimes Against Children Squad, sees something else that sets off his cop-radar. The case is gruesome and harrowing as the author examines not only the way these girls get lured into traps by these predators, but the effect it has on the families, the investigative process, and the reminder that with each closed case, there are still countless missing and exploited children yet to find and rescue. DCI Claire is not going to have it easy with this one. Six teenage girls are missing. The bodies are not found and when four are found in one area next to each other, it seems the killer is almost egging them on to try to find him. Other than the fact that they are local girls, there seems to be no common link. Typical teenagers confronting authority both society and at home a couple of them had threatened to run away and had done so previously. What had made them accept a lift on a lonely road after explicit instructions had been given not to hitch hike. Did they know their kidnapper and murderer.I found Pretty Little Things to be a bit of a mixed bag for my personal taste but have rated it 4 stars because I recognise the novel's strengths and know that most readers will love it. The novel is mostly told in the first person by Chalotte Moore with a switch of perspective to DI Madeleine Woods' investigation from time to time and an occasional interjection from "Anon". I chose to read this novel as I love police procedurals but the police perspective is muted with Ms Walsh preferring to concentrate on Charlotte, so it's another novel, another unreliable narrator. I really struggle with this approach as flaky characters don't hold my interest and I get annoyed with their poor decision making. T.M.E. Walsh has a way with words and helping to visualize a scene. Something's I maybe didn’t want to visualize though. YIKES. I liked the story a lot. It starts out fantastic and even though I am not a mom, I can certainly relate to Charlotte. You feel her despair and her desperation. I couldn’t imagine a serial killer being loose in my town. She is desperate to keep her daughter safe and along the way she does lose it a little but what loving mom wouldn’t? What mom doesn’t want to keep her daughter safe?
