About this deal

This new ball is a performer, through and through. Unlike painted golf balls, DIVIDE’s entire thermoplastic urethane cover is infused with bright pigments so that the colour won’t scratch or tear. Plus, that premium urethane adds spin for plenty of control around the greens. It wasn’t like someone said, ‘Hey, let’s make a two-tone golf ball’, and, presto, the engineers had it done the next day,” says Schielke. “It took quite a bit of prototyping, testing, getting the colors right and getting a really clean seam.”

Brighten up your game with the New Srixon Q-Star Tour Divide Golf Balls feature a 50/50 matte urethane cover with yellow on one half and blue on the other, making spin visible and putting alignment easier than ever. Q-Star Tour Golf Balls are Srixon’s softest ball with tour-level performance. FastLayer technology and the largest core in its class make the ball fast of the face and long off the tee. The new SeRM urethane cover delivers one-hop stop control around the greens. Bauer Media Group consists of : Bauer Consumer Media Ltd, Company number 01176085; Bauer Radio Limited, If the option for Financing or one or more of the monthly terms are not shown, then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply for that finance type at this time. Pay in 3 instalments Of the three, the new FastLayer core is the most interesting. If you move up Srixon’s ownership chain, you’ll ultimately arrive at Sumitomo Rubber Industries, the “SRI” in Srixon. SRI is a multi-billion-dollar tire and rubber company and, like Bridgestone, has rubber engineers coming out of its all-season radials. The FastLayer Core is a bit of rubber alchemy that’s soft in the center and gets progressively firmer toward the outside. The end result is a core that’s both firm and soft. The 2020 Q-STAR Tour was a middle-of-the-road performer in last year’s MGS Ball Test. By and large, it was low spin with both the driver and iron at all three swing speeds tested. And out of all 37 balls tested, it finished no lower than 12 th in iron carry distance in each swing speed. Driver distance, however, was a different story. It was a top-half performer in the mid-swing speed category but finished near the bottom with both high and low swing speeds. In July 2023, Neil became just the 9th editor in Golf Monthly's 112-year history. Originally working with the best coaches in the UK to produce instruction content, he has also presented many Golf Monthly videos looking at all areas of the game from Tour player interviews to the rules of golf.

Getting a 72-compression ball to spin like a firmer Tour-level ball is next to impossible. And making the mid-layer softer isn’t going to help much. Greenside spin comes from a larger delta between a soft thin cover and a firm mid-layer. Srixon has the thinnest urethane covers in the game (Q-STAR Tour’s is 0.5mm, same as the Z-STAR) and Srixon’s unique spin-enhancing SeRM coating will help. But, in this case, spin is relative. One of the shifts we’re seeing in the golf ball market is line extension. OEMs are putting more offerings on the table in hopes of scratching different golf ball itches. Srixon is taking that to the next level. The new Q-STAR Tour release now brings its urethane ball count to 12. Three-piece urethane-covered ball that provides premium tech in a model that’s suitable for moderate swing speeds. Uses Tour technologies found in the Z-Star series like FastLayer, Spin Skin with SeRM, and Speed Dimples but with a softer compression (72). 338 dimple reduces drag and improves flight for more distance. Since those humble beginnings, our endeavour has blossomed into a robust and trusted online retailer, representing the leading brands in the golf industry. We take immense pride in being your go-to destination for all things golf!It didn’t have the speed of a firmer Tour-level ball. But for the target golfer, it was plenty fast enough. And while it didn’t have quite the spin of a Tour-level ball, for the target golfer, it was spinn-y enough. However, one thing is certain: If any Srixon Tour staffers did play a Z-STAR level DIVIDE, Srixon would get more TV time than it ever thought imaginable. Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE Price, Specs and Availability

Seve won at Augusta and Tom Watson won at Royal Birkdale. Natalie Gulbis, Carrie Underwood and Mila Kunis were all born, and Jimmy Demaret, Muddy Waters and Gloria Swanson all died. And if memory still serves, I carded my very first birdie that year with a PING Eye on the par-3 17 th at the Westminster Golf Club. Srixon categorizes the Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE as mid-to-high-launch and, at 72 compression, it definitely registers on the soft side. The thing is, Srixon is telling us this FastLayer Core is the softest overall yet used in a Q-STAR Tour. Srixon says the 2022 Q-STAR Tour compression is still 72, the same as the 2020 model. I’m sure that will be one of the first tests we do in Ball Lab. Another Srixon signature is the 338 Speed Dimple Pattern. Srixon balls do have a reputation for performing well in the wind and the 338 Speed Dimple Pattern is designed to reduce drag and increase lift. Lower drag helps keep the ball online while greater lift helps keep the ball in the air longer. The Elephant in the RoomQuality is always a priority for us,” Schielke says. “And in development and production, we are ensuring the highest quality and consistency are going into each Q-STAR Tour.”

I tested the blue and yellow colourway by hitting a number of different shots, focussing on approach shots into the greens and short game shots to see how the divide pattern looked in the air. Expect a mid-high flight and soft feel (102 compression) and plenty of greenside spin thanks to its 0.5mm urethane cover which uses Spin Skin with SeRM. The 338 dimple pattern reduces drag and improves flight.

Thank you for signing up!

The Srixon Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE is built on the Q-STAR TOUR platform. It’s a three-piece, 72-compression ball with a urethane cover. Only that it’s in two colors. Most brightly colored balls are two-piece construction. Srixon’s SOFT FEEL is available in five colors as is the Wilson Staff DUO Optix. In the higher-performing urethane category, there’s the Wilson Staff DUO Professional, also available in five colors. Into its 10th generation, the two-piece AD333 is one of the most popular balls with club golfers. The new FastLayer core lowers compression (72) for better flight with lower-lofted clubs, while the Spin Skin with SeRM found in the brand’s premium models improves spin and stopping power. The 338 ‘speed dimple’ pattern helps reduce drag and boost lift and the 1.45mm ionomer cover is very durable. The goal with this new version was to make some incremental improvements without reinventing the wheel,” says Srixon General Manager Brian Schielke. “The new Q-STAR Tour features a softer mid-layer which produces better feel and an increase in spin.” Matte balls do tend to hold dirt more so than standard balls but Schielke says Srixon is happy with the durability and looks of the Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE. “All golf balls get dirty but we haven’t seen any problems with this one that stand out.”
