Snug is an old friend of Helen Parr, presumably from her super days as Elastigirl. He never appears in the films, but his voice can be heard on the phone when Helen calls him to acquire a jet to access Syndrome's island (in The Incredibles). Snug can be seen in a photograph held by Helen that shows the two of them in aviation gear. In a deleted scene, Snug was intended to travel with them on the plane to the island and would be killed in the following crash with the missiles, but this was rewritten to have Helen pilot the plane solo instead.Genius-level Intellect: While not having superpowers, Syndrome's high intellect made him a fierce opponent, his tactical skills and inventions proving to be more than enough to allow him to compete with the likes of Mr. Incredible.
