About this deal

A world map can be defined as a representation of Earth, as a whole or in parts, usually on a flat surface. This is made using different types of map projections (methods) like Mercator, Transverse Mercator, Robinson, Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area, Miller Cylindrical, to name a few. The creation of the world map has been the result of our quest to seek more knowledge about our Earth. The World Map is a three-dimensional depiction of Earth on a two-dimensional plane. World Maps are tools which provide us with varied information about any region of the globe and capture our world in different groups like Ocean Maps (shows the location of oceans), mountain maps (indicates location, name and height of mountains and hills). Similarly, travel maps, continents, country boundaries and many other theme maps have been made available. To do this the Robinson projection is neither equal-area or conformal, with a compromise between the two being reached instead. Mountains of China (Height): Mount Everest (8,848m), K2 (8,611m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,481m), Broad Peak (8,051m), Shishapangma (8,013m), Chomo Lonzo (7,804m), Kongur Tagh (7,649m), Mount Gongga (7,556m), Muztagh Ata (7,546m), Skyang Kangri (7,545m), Jongsong Peak (7,462m), Teram Kangri (7,462m), Jengish Chokusu (7,439m), Mount Tian (7,439m), Labuche Kang (7,367m). And there are nations that have their own territory and cultural identity but are part of a parent state entity, such as the American Indian nations of North America or the Uighurs in the autonomous region of Xinjiang, or Tibet; the former Tibetan Empire is now, not entirely voluntarily, an autonomous region of China. The Far East, the Middle East, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the largest and most populous continent has many subregions. Asia counts 49 generally recognized sovereign states, all members of the United Nations, plus two states with a kind of limited, but substantial, international recognition, Taiwan (ROC), and Palestine (State of Palestine). 4.64 billion people live in Asia. The two most populous countries in the world are in Asia, China and India. Asia's largest country by area is Russia, Asian Russia occupies almost 30% of the entire continent.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then China’s new “Standard Map 2023,” which has angered and alienated many of China’s neighbors, speaks volumes. So far, however, the international audience appears to have missed its most interesting message. Morris Rossabi, ed. (2013). Eurasian Influences on Yuan China. ISEAS Publishing. p.131. Maps in the Chinese tradition tended to be known by specific titles, easily expressed as short sequences of ideograms, such as the Yu Gong Jiuzhou Lidai Diwang Guodu Dili Tu (禹貢九州歷代帝王國都地理圖; Map of Capitals of Historical Emperors and Kings in the Nine Provinces described in the Yu Gong). The map was crucial in expanding China’s knowledge of the world and actually revealed the existence of America to the Chinese. It was also exported abroad and became influential in Japan and Korea. There are 35 sovereign states in the Americas. Approximately 1 billion people live on the double continent. The vivid memories of many Chinese regarding the actions of Japan during the Second World War, as well as the discovery of undersea oil reserves in the area in the 1960s, have only served to oxygenate this geopolitical fire. A potentially lethal, high-speed game of “cat-and-mouse” between Japanese coast guard and Chinese fishing vessels has become increasingly common. Among the partially recognized states or state-like entities are Abkhazia, Kosovo, the Cook Islands, Northern Cyprus, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (Western Sahara), Somaliland, and Transnistria. The Hunyi Jiangli Tu by Zen monk Qingjun (1328–1392) is lost. However, the Shuidong Riji (水東日記) by the Ming period book collector Ye Sheng (葉盛) (1420–1474) includes a modified edition of the map by the name of Guanglun Jiangli Tu (廣輪疆理圖). Ye Sheng also recorded Yan Jie (嚴節)'s colophon to the map (1452). According to Yan Jie, the Guanglun Jiangli Tu was created in 1360. The extant map was modified, probably by Yan Jie, to catch up with contemporary Ming place names. The original map covered place names of the Mongol-ruled Yuan dynasty. During the Tang dynasty, Jia Dan improved the knowledge of China on foreign countries. He wrote a number of works on geography that described foreign states and trade routes, as well as producing a map Hainei Huayi Tu ( 海内華夷圖, "Map of Chinese and non-Chinese Territories in the World"). [9] [10] The map includes China and other known countries and was presented to the emperor in 801. [9] The map was 9.1m (30ft) in length and 10m (33ft) in height, mapped out on a grid scale of one inch equaling one hundred li (Chinese unit of measuring distance). [11] China Natural Hazards: China has a wide range of natural hazards that occur in this large country. These include droughts, land subsidence, earthquakes, tsunamis, and damaging floods. In addition, approximately five typhoons strike the southern and eastern coasts each year.

It seems significant, then, that Beijing chose to release the map on the heels of a late August meeting of the BRICS nations — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa -- and just before China is to participate in top-level meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Group of 20 rich and developing nations. If you don’t know how to change this, choose an English-speaking server location (e.g. United States) while using your VPN, and you won’t have this issue. However, as we already mentioned earlier trying to accurately get a 3D shape represented as a 2D image is no easy task. No, that isn’t a typo, tripel is German for triple and refers to Winkel’s aim to minimise three kinds of distortion: area, direction, and distance. There are 54 sovereign states (countries) in Africa. An estimated 1.34 billion people live on the second-largest continent (in 2020). Main sights of China: Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Imperial Palace, The Summer Palace, Terracotta Army, Li River, The Three Gorges on the Yangtze River, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Xian City Wall, Leshan Giant Buddha, West Lake, Potala Palace, Victoria Harbour (Hong Kong), Shilin Stone Forest, Mogao Caves, Lijiang Old Town, Hanging Monastery of Hengshan, Longmen Grottoes, Pudong Skyline. China, Chinese (Pinyin) Zhonghua or (Wade-Giles romanization) Chung-hua, also spelled (Pinyin) Zhongguo or (Wade-Giles romanization) Chung-kuo, officially People Republic of China or Chinese (Pinyin) Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo or (Wade-Giles romanization) Chung-hua Jen-min Kung-ho-kuo, country of East Asia. It is the largest of all Asian countries and has the largest population of any country in the world as its shown in China map. Given this you can see why China could view themselves as being the centre of the world and why the China world map looks the way it does. But where did the first China World Map come from?

The downside of OSM is that local maps are displayed in the language of the country you’re in. So in China, all the streets are shown in Chinese characters. Historically China can also been seen as a centre of civilization, having the longest continuous civilization in the world, spanning 7,000 years. Vietnam said the claims violate its sovereignty over the Paracel and Spratly islands and jurisdiction over its waters and should be considered void because they violate the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Illustrating how provocative the nine-dash line is considered by Hanoi, Vietnam in July banned the popular “Barbie” movie because it includes a view of a map showing the disputed Chinese claims. Arthur H Robinson devised this map in 1963 with the goal of creating a world map that was both more accurate but also remained visually pleasing. As we’ve already talked about, the key difference between the China world map and western world map is that China and Asia are placed much more centrally. In 1973 German film maker Arno Peters presented a world map in direct opposition to the commonly used Mercator project. China has vast and varied landscapes from the Gobi Desert and Taklamakan Desert in the dry north to subtropical forests in the humid south. The Tian Shan, Himalaya, Pamir and Karakoram Mountain ranges separate China from much of Central and South Asia. China's landscape varies considerably across vast territories. To the east, vast and densely populated alluvial plains stretch along the coasts of the Yellow and East China Seas, and to the north, vast grasslands stretch along the edge of the Inner Mongolia Plateau. Southern China is dominated by hills and low mountain ranges, while the east-central region is dominated by the delta of China's two largest rivers, the Yellow and Yangtze rivers. Official name
