About this deal

In cases of severe condensation or for large roofs where the distance between eaves exceeds 10m (30ft), or the roof pitch is steeper than 35o, then it is recommended that an additional row of ventilation panels be fitted into the highest line of roofing felt or underlay lap closest to the ridge on both sides of the roof. Selecting the amount of airflow, then dividing the roof length by the spacing (in meters) indicted below. A warm roof will have the insulation in between the rafters directly under the roof tiles which means that the loft space will be heated also. They tend to only be used in smaller lofts where the cost of heating a large void space will not be too expensive.

Our roof ventilation range is entirely British manufactured, as are the majority of our products; proudly supporting British manufacturing and minimising risk in the supply chain and in your project schedules. Roof and eaves ventilation – complete solutions Vented roofs allow heat to escape the space with ease. This can, in turn, reduce the need for solutions like air conditioning to lower bills. The life of the roof is extended

Usually fitted retrospectively to properties with additional loft insulation recently installed, however the Felt Lap Vent will help to combat the problem of condensation build up in any roof space with a lapped felt/membrane construction. One issue that can arise is “ice damming”. Many homeowners and professionals who are familiar with these lofts issues know of this problem.

We are quite used to seeing condensation in the bathroom, firstly in the form of hot steam as we shower or bathe, but then, as the bathroom cools, the steam condenses on the ceiling, cold water pipes, tiles etc. It is not so obvious in the loft.

Smart, simple, safe and efficient

Wall vents that provide air to a room with heat-producing appliances (e.g., gas appliances or central heating boilers).

In this project we will look at dealing with condensation that is occurring in your loft space. In the worse case scenario this can cause the roof timbers to rot, but typically it will make the loft space smell musty and mould and be unusable for storage, which is very frustrating. We have a project on how to lay loft boards to make storage in your loft here. Condensation and Ventilation in Loft or Attic Spaces In very extreme conditions, such as experienced during the ‘Beast from the East’ in 2018, extremely low temperatures combined with fine dry powdery show can create a situation where small amounts may enter through the ventilator. It is not possible to produce a ventilator cost effectively that will allow the free flow of ventilating air and not the very fine snowflakes. It can be hard to tell if it’s condensation or the roof is leaking, particularly as it can be astounding how much moisture can condense in the right (or should we say, wrong) conditions. It is recommended that one ventilator panel is fitted between each rafter in the lowest underlay lap above the level of the insulation layer in the loft on both sides of the roof (see product brochure fig. 1). Alongside the tile and slate vents, Danelaw offers a range of eaves and soffit vents, CON6+ and CLAY6+; the ventilated dry fix ridge and hip systems. It is possible for rainwater and condensation to run down the roofing underlay and drip though the opening cut into the underlay. This will usually be apparent on the outside of the vent, or on the underlay. To prevent this, the underlay should be cut and dressed around the opening to divert any rainwater or condensation around the opening in the roof.
