About this deal

The 250mm depth of the frame means the lute frame levels better. The whole idea is the frame rides over the top of high spots and leaves material in the low spots. The rake can go into the bottom of a hollow and remove material. So the lute requires much less skill to achieve a better levelling result. The base is heavy, which makes it effective at a number of tasks including removing stones, breaking up small clots of loam and mixing soil with fertilisers. It can also be used to level out lumps of soft ground and prepare the garden for planting. For added comfort, the handle is also adjustable. It’s made up of 3 x 65 cm sections, with a total length of 195 cm. The base is large, measuring 76 x 25 cm. Better levelling ( because of greater width). Doesn’t follow every dip and hollow so deposits material in hollows better) And for extra comfort, the handle has an ergonomic soft grip at the end. This stops your hand from becoming blistered or calloused with all the raking you do.

Levelling rakes are simple pieces of garden equipment that serve to level out the soft ground. They are wide flat rakes with a structure of bars across them. The bars have tines underneath them which, when raked across the surface of the ground, pull up debris there. The rake pushes the debris from high points on the ground into the low areas. In this way, the surface is levelled off.Another slight issue is that the joint between the handle and board isn’t particularly durable. It hasn’t been welded, so it is a weak point in its construction. If you have a larger garden or even large dips in the lawn to level, then the SurmountWay Lawn Levelling Rake is a great choice thanks to its nice wide 75cm levelling width. For smaller gardens, the MIYA Level Lawn Rake is ideal because it has got a smaller levelling width of 43cm which is better for smaller narrow dips. I did a lot of searching around the internet and although I found a lot of DIY solutions there weren't any that I was super happy with so I decided to make my own with inspiration from different sources. Carrying on from when I sacrificed my lawn and applied sulphate of iron (which is a moss killer and lawn tonic), one job I often used find myself doing before seeding is levelling my lawn. Once my lawn has been levelled, I usually overseed it, and you get a much better lawn, especially if you’re trying to get a striped lawn using a mower with a roller. Having said that, a heavy tool will be more difficult for some people to use. Ideally, you need a rake with enough weight to do the job, without being difficult to manage.

Look for rake heads made of tempered steel as that has enough strength to break up clumped and hard soil. None of the models I reviewed claimed to have the head made of this material. The strongest materials will allow your rake to break up clumped and hard soil, as opposed to only soft materials. Handle Design and Length Lawn Lute is constructed of no-rust and non-corrosive high quality Stainless Steel, which has been designed and tested to deliver perfect balance and weight distribution for comfortable use over an extended period of time.
