Hi, looks like they moved that function to a new location in MPC Software 2.3, I’ve updated the article to reflect that change. Thanks for pointing it out. Reply

Now I am working with an MPC live and some great electric rhode-piano VSTs (often and before your above tutorial only in controler-mode). The given tutorial does not realy work in those cases, because when you working with some rhode plugins, they have those multiple dynamic and velocity levels (as you already mentioned above at the advanced multisamples options!) which bring out different styles of tones, the harder you hit the hammer, guess you know! Pioneer’s standalone sampler borrows a number of ideas from the classic MPC format but includes features aimed at DJs and live performers. Actually — i think once you built the template, not too hard. Could possibly be a single run, the sequence repeated 4 times at different velocities, then the name scheme would work in the layers. Maybe? Reply Don’t forget to save this new program along with all its samples! In MAIN, hit the pencil icon on the KEYGROUP PROGRAM row and select SAVE CURRENT PROGRAM.

With your disk now available as a removable drive on your computer, the next step is to copy the standalone expansion to it. Use an external storage device (USB or SD) to transfer files and projects directly from the MPC One to your computer. As you can see this is a 52 bar sequence containing 26 two bar long note events, each at full velocity. As the sequence name suggests, these events are added every 5 ‘semitones’ and effectively cover the entire note range of the MPC. (The 1v refers to this just recording a single velocity of each note). One of the most exciting new features is the introduction of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. You can use these two connections to wirelessly sync your favourite gear from MIDI keyboards and controllers to sequencers. You can use your external gear to input notes, craft melodies and create rhythms - perfect for the studio or the stage. MPC Software 2.10 update – new plugins, deeper integration and much more I hope you can, want and will help me solving that problem, as you always did in the past man (and that without even knowing me at all). One of the most prominent new features is the inclusion of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. Opening up a whole new world of connectivity options, you can use wireless connectivity to connect to compatible devices without cables such as the Ableton Link 3. You can even hook up wireless-compatible MIDI keyboard/controllers to create melodies and rhythms with your favourite gear. You can also constantly expand your sound library using the wide variety of MPC instruments on offer.

This 10 step workflow handles the bulk of the work for you, it even renames all your samples and automatically maps them to a fully working keygroup program! Before You Start Fire up MPC Software 2.x and connect your MPC Live/X via USB to your computer and turn on your MPC. Go to MENU and hit the ‘MPC’ chip near the top right of the screen and select CONTROLLER MODE. Akai’s MPC series started out as a collaboration between Japanese electronics company Akai and famed engineer Roger Linn, having designed the LinnDrum and LM-1, which defined the sounds of the ’80s. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. The max recording resolution in standalone mode is 24 bit, 44.1kHz. When using the MPC One in controller mode the recording resolution can be set up to 24 bit, 96 kHz.First, give your new keygroup program a more useful name, for example, ‘Hybrid Analog Square’, or if you want to use Akai’s tagging standard, ‘ Lead-Hybrid Analog Square‘. Interaction with the instruments, like any of the MPC's main views, can be directly through the touch-screen, or via the four physical 'Q-Link' knobs, or by tapping any parameter or field and using the main encoder. The Q-links can be banked through different targets with dedicated buttons, but you can simply touch any on-screen element and the knobs will jump to that section. Is this still necessary in 2.3 with auto sampling now available ? If so, whats the difference Reply Now we can’t actually fully ‘delete’ keygroups from the start of a program, but we can remove the unwanted samples from them – if a keygroup has no samples, it effectively becomes ‘disabled’. We all know that we can’t use plugin instruments while in ‘standalone mode’ in our MPC X & MPC Live, but we can quite literally ‘clone’ those plugins by multisampling them and creating native MPC ‘keygroup’ instruments from those samples.
