The five Legendary giants may collectively be themed after historical epochs, with Regidrago representing the Middle Ages, a period known for its legends of dragons. Alternatively, Regidrago may represent the Mesozoic, the era when dinosaurs walked the Earth which is also known as the Age of Reptiles. Regidrago's being the remnants of an ancient dragon or crystalized dragon energy may be a vague reference to fossil fuels. While I wouldn't recommend bringing Primal Groudon to this raid, if you already have your Groudon reverted and don't want to enter cooldown, it still outperforms any of the standard top counters. It's a Ground and Fire type, meaning it has no useful resistances or weaknesses here, and it won't be providing a same type boost to any of the recommended counters. If you do bring Primal Groudon along, it should know Dragon Tail and Precipice Blades. Honorable mentionsRegidrago VSTAR / Rillaboom: Rillaboom is the best way to power up Regidrago VSTAR, but for that, you have to pay a high price in your overall consistency.
It is currently estimated that this raid can be beat with just two or three top level players; however, as an Elite Raid, there is a 24 hour notice period to gather a larger party. Keep in mind that Remote Raid Passes cannot be used, so you'll have to coordinate with local friends on this one. Clearly has a niche, and nothing outclasses relicanth in that niche, but the format doesn’t posses the need for relicanth. 1/5 Regidrago seems to be based on the golems of Hebrew legend. The legends cast them as servants of higher powers and are said to have writing on their heads. When the writing is removed, the creature would be weakened, or even killed in some legends. Regidrago's face that consists of seven dots may be based on Braille alphabet which was necessary to use to encounter the Legendary giants for the first time in Sealed Chamber. Moves marked with a double dagger (‡) can only be bred from a Pokémon who learned the move in an earlier generation.

Italic indicates a move that gets STAB only when used by an evolution or an alternate form of Regidrago Below I will analyze all five lists of Regidrago VSTAR, but the same Dragon-type Pokémon will be used in practically all of them, which are Duraludon VMAX, Giratina VSTAR, Garchomp V, Hisuian Goodra VSTAR, and depending on the variant, Dragonite. These are by far the best options we have in the format right now, and they work consistently. Other options like Flygon V, Flapple, and Appletun can be good, but they are situational and sometimes insufficient even in the matchup that should be good. Another important point is not to exaggerate the number of options for Regidrago VSTAR, as with each new option you put on the list, one more consistency card will probably have to be removed. About four to six Pokémon options is a good amount to play, more or less than that and you can already have problems discarding Pokémon, or consistency issues due to having too many Pokémon. Regidrago debuted in Chasing to the Finish!, where Gary caught one as part of a Project Mew Trial Mission.
