Alex Rider, a 14-year-old British spy that has helped MI6 in the past, thought that he was done with all of the spy work and could be a normal kid again, but then one day, a journalist, Harry Bulman, showed up at his front door. Bulman wanted to exploit Alex and everything that he has done for MI6 to everyone. The solution was to go to MI6. He presumed that they would get force Harry Bulman to not publish he findings about Alex, but in return, Alex had to investigate a simple issue at Greenfields. At Greenfields, they worked with genetically modified, or GM, plants that could change the world in many ways, some that held too much power to certain people, such as Desmond McCain, founder of First Aid, a charity that helps injured civilians in world catastrophes. When Alex goes to Greenfields to investigate, he puts himself into a dangerous situation in which terrible events that follow.
