About this deal

The special, antimicrobial filter in Chillmax Air is designed to hold water without allowing the bacteria and mould that it contains to develop and grow, it's even dishwasher-safe so you can regularly clean it and use it time after time. The large capacity water reservoir, combined with the filter, means that Chillmax Air holds a lot of water, so you can rely on Chillmax Air to run for up to ten hours, that's a whole night's sleep, or an entire working day in a hot stuffy office, breathing in cool, humid air! Cools and humidifies

So, the Chillmax definitely cools the air that passes through it. Let’s work on the assumption that it would be able to get the same 4ºC drop no matter what the ambient temperature was. If your room is 38ºC, pulling it down to 34ºC still means it’s bloody hot. And also note that the Chillmax is physically quite small, so the cooling is very localised – it won’t cool an entire room down, and you have to have it less than a metre from your face to feel anything. Built-in casters allow you to easily move the unit to any room in the house with a simple push, where the compact and upright design allows it to fit anywhere without taking up too much space. The amount of water vapour that air can hold varies with the temperature. Cold air can’t hold much, but warmer air can. At any temperature, once you reach the maximum amount possible, any extra vapour condenses out as liquid water – misted up windows, dampness, even drips and pools of moisture on window sills or under lamp posts. In winter, the condensation point is reached very easily, which is why you get your windows all steamed up and everywhere is often damp, but in hotter weather it is more appropriate to think ‘sauna’ (which is why it gets ‘muggy’). This air moisture is what we call ‘humidity’. Chillmax Air Pure Chill sprays a fine mist that is then sent through the special filter and only uses evaporation and water to function. There's three adjustable speeds to choose from and a reusable, antimicrobial filter, runs up to 10 hours per fill, The JML ChillMax Air Personal Space Air Cooler and Humidifier doesn’t use chemicals or toxic coolants. It uses ordinary water to keep you and your family safe. Let's be honest when we do get it we love the sun, but we can't help but moan that it's 'too hot to sleep' or fidget around the office as it slowly heats up to oven level. Early in July 2019, I saw the Chillmax Air advertised on TV in one of those shouty JML ads. That same evening, I was shopping in Asda and saw it on display. I am an idiot for things like this, and bought it on impulse so I could test whether it worked or not.

You'll be able to set between high, medium or low speed settings to maximise your comfort and adjust the fan to redirect cool air across angles of the room. The purifier is also armed with a HEPA filter, which effortlessly works to capture and remove unwanted gases and pollutants from the air. Chillmax Air Pure Chill uses a better, improved fan, built within its sound-protective casing, to distribute the cool air in your direction. And with three settings, you can have the perfect amount of cool, moist air for whatever the weather throws at you, day or night! Built-in LED mood and night light with SEVEN coloursThe special, antimicrobial filter in Chillmax Air Pure Chill 2.0 is designed to hold water without allowing the bacteria and mould that it contains to develop and grow, it’s even washable so you can regularly clean it and use it time after time. The top-fill water reservoir, combined with the filter, means you can rely on Chillmax Air Pure Chill 2.0 to run for a whole night’s sleep, or an entire working day in a hot stuffy office, breathing in cool, humid air! 7-colour LED night light At the time of this most recent edit, it is 20 minutes past midnight on 19 July 2022 and the official Met Office temperature in Nottingham (where I am) is between 28ºC and 29ºC (it was just over 37ºC earlier on 18 July). Humidity is 35%RH, but it is up to 60%RH less than 40 miles away at the next Met Office station. In Nottingham, humidity peaked at 60%RH on 18 July, even if it dropped to under 30%RH at times. And that was outdoors – indoors you can add 30-40%RH without blinking. If you’re likely to use the air conditioning unit whilst you’re asleep, it’s worth looking for one with an operating noise level of 60db or under. How much should I spend on an air conditioning unit?

As an example, if the air temperature is 30ºC and 50%RH, it will feel like 31ºC, but if the humidity goes up to 80%RH, then it will feel like 38ºC – even though the thermometer still tells you it’s 30ºC. There's three functional settings to choose from including cooling, dehumidifying and a fan setting. The dehumidifier removes moisture from the air at a rate of around 1.2 litres per hour, with water tank indicator to let you know when it's full. The higher the BTU the more expensive it gets, but remember lower BTU products are only going to be suitable for cooling smaller spaces. Do I need to drain a portable air conditioner? The Chillmax Air Pure Chill gives you the best features of both fans and an air conditioner in one, compact unit that’s also a night light. Chillmax Air Pure Chill 2.0 is the new and improved personal cooler that turns water, via a special, silver-infused filter and specially designed diffuser, into a fine mist of cool, refreshing air circulated by a fan with four speed settings.
