About this deal

Ode is built to dominate brewed coffee. Unfortunately, that means that Ode is not suitable for espresso. The grind range on Ode will not be fine enough (<200 microns for espresso). Ode’s 64mm flat burrs and motor are geared towards drip and immersion coffee brewing. What I find a bit weird about this is that the Ode @ 7,2 brews similar to Comandante @ 24 but those grind sizes are clearly different. If the Comandante has far fewer fines I can see how you'd get similar/better extractions at smaller grind sizes without astringency but the data doesn't make it seem like the Comandante's doing significantly better in that regard. It also seems like the Ode is a bit more uniform at smaller grind sizes, but the Comandante's better as you go bigger. Qualitatively the grounds seem this way too.

Grind Screening Test: We ground 30 grams of coffee at a standard drip setting and ran it through a Kruve sifter with screens at 500 and 1400 microns to measure what percentage of coffee particles fell into the ideal range between the two. Once you’ve got over the price and bought the grinder you’ll appreciate it every day. Not gonna lie, I have felt pretty smug using it. Fellow spent two years in development to bring you the next generation of the Fellow Ode Grinder. From the finest pour-overs to the coarsest cold brews, your coffee will never be the same again. PRECISION GRIND QUALITYPrecise particle size is possible with every push of the button thanks to café-sized flat burrs and easy grind adjustment with 11 settings and 31 steps in between.Trusted Source Healthy Drinks | The Nutrition Source | Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health With so many options, it’s easy to be confused about which beverages are best for our health. Coffee and tea, without added sweeteners, are healthy choices. Replacing the burrs is an easy option but adds to the cost. In 2022, Fellow released a second generation model of the Ode with a new-and-improved burr set. Improved Hopper- The hopper has also been redesigned with steeper feed angles to allow the beans to slide easily into the chute for grinding. The Fellow Ode is well designed to be durable and compact. However, it has not stood the test of time. But given that Fellow is reputable for producing high-quality products, we expect nothing less of the Fellow Ode Grinder. The Fellow Ode Brew Grinder was a coffee grinder that the coffee world had been waiting for 64mm stainless steel flat burrs, single-dosing, an auto-stop function, and a stunning design! When the Fellow Ode finally hit the market, while it was a popular grinder, many experts criticized the narrow grind range.

Exit Chute/Anti Static: The anti static technology will work best for about 60 cycles before it needs to be cleaned to operate at its peak performance. To clean it, remove the catch cup, and use the Fellow cleaning brush (or another cleaning brush such as a clean makeup brush or a clean paint brush) and “swipe” around the inside of the exit chute (where the coffee grounds come out). This will clean the chute and help the anti-static mechanisms work well. Right out of the box, this is a sexy AF grinder. I want to leave my grinder on the counter, and most of them are eyesores. I really hated looking at my Vario every day. It is ugly, simple fact. For some people, this isn't a concern. However just like people take looks into consideration when purchasing kitchen countertops, a car, or other appliances, I want my stuff to be appealing to look at; especially if it is sitting on my counter 365 days a year.
