It seems to be a straightforward xianxia novel but honestly gave me major Wangxian vibes. The cold and aloof purehearted Mo Xi still pining over his childhood lover Gu Manh who betrayed him and now uses malevolent qi after his golden core was damaged.He could bear Gu Mang stabbing him and betraying him. But taking this ribbon violated the strictest taboo in his heart—this was the ribbon that had once belonged to his father.

Pls dont look at my rating tho bcs this novel is gooooood- I've seen many ppl like it even more than 2HA. The story is amazing, the characters *chefs kiss* the plot twists mindblowing, its more of a me problem not connecting enough to the story for more than 50% of it and mo xi's too for being a shitty boyfriend but we dont talk about about that Gu Mang was definitely my favourite character in this book. (after Murong Lian i knowww okayy dont judge me i just have a thing for assholes with anger issues who are softies inside) My man went through so much definitely wwx with the way he wouldnt care what anyone thinks as long as hes doing what he believes to be right And maybe this is why I do have a soft spot for him bcs atp it's not a secret how much I love WWX.If there's one thing Meatbun men know how to do the best, it's serving boy-obsessed, touch-him-and-you-die, i-hate-you-but-i-cant-leave-you, you-came-you-called ughsyehsj I'm on my knees plsssss Don't worry, even if you're no longer a noble young master, you'll always be you.
