When it comes time to charge up AirFly Pro, you'll get a notification in the form of an amber blinking light. It'll flash three times to let you know its running low on juice. It comes with a charging cable (USB-A-to-USB-C) but the good news is it supports USB-C charging, so any one of the USB-C cables you have lying around will juice it up. Because we don’t live in a world where every audio device offers Bluetooth, the AirFly Pro can make AirPods even better. Although the product is being sold by Apple, it works with every brand of wireless headphones, not just Airpods. Both the Airfly Pro and Airfly Duo will allow you to listen to a device through your wireless headphones without connecting via Bluetooth. The main difference between the two is that the Airfly Dro does not allow for audio input, but it does offer an extra four hours of battery life. It also supports Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX Low Latency Codecs so if your Bluetooth headphones or earphones support Bluetooth 5.0, you won’t get any audio latency when playing games or watching movies with the Airfly Pro. It’s important to note that the Airfly Pro typically costs a little more, while the Airfly Duo can be found at a more affordable price. I also don't like it when gadgets don't provide battery level indicators. This is something Apple skips on, too, with its Smart Battery Case. On something as small as the AirFly Pro, it'd probably be very difficult to fit four LED status lights, but it'd be great to be able to press a button to see approximately how much battery life is left (based on how many lights light up). Twelve South has included a cap for the AirFly Pro that has a small key ring on it. I love this little addition because I can add it to my keychain and always have my AirFly Pro with me wherever I go. You never know when you're going to want to connect to the audio in a car. The cable for the 3.5mm audio plug is just an inch long, but is there to mostly give you some flexibility when plugging in.

The one real limitation of the AirFly Pro is it’s fairly short range. If you’re planning on going more than 15 feet or so from the audio source, this isn’t the product for you. But that’s not a issue if you’re in a plane seat, or working out on a piece of gym equipment. So, if you're on a plane and you and your traveling companion both have your favorite pair of wireless active noise-canceling headphones, but only one of you has an AirFly Pro, you can both still enjoy using your favorite headphones (though you both would have to watch the same movie). AirFly Pro, according to Twelve South, also sports a hefty 16-hour battery life. I have not had the opportunity to max out the battery life to test these claims, but I can tell you that I wore out my AirPods Pro twice while AirFly Pro kept ongoing. AirPods were clearly the inspiration for Twelve South’s designers. AirFly Pro has the rounded corners and edges of Apple’s earbuds. It’s all smooth and shiny white plastic, just like the AirPods case.Remember, the only real difference between these two devices is that the Pro offers an option to enjoy your entertainment through a speaker in your home, car, or even on a boat through the audio in option. Whichever mode you are in will require you to connect to AirFly Pro via Bluetooth, which is surprisingly easy. Simply hold & press the main button to set it to pairing mode. Do the same with your favourite wireless headphones like the Bose QC35 II or Beats Solo Pro, or wireless earbuds like the Jabra Elite 75t or Beats Powerbeats Pro. They will automatically pair without having to open any app or settings on your phone.
