However, extracts from German maltsters Weyermann and Bierkeller are available in the US. In addition, the US maltster Briess makes a Pilsen extract and homebrew retailer Beer, Beer and More Beer offers a malt extract made from German malt (Durst Pilsner). Recall the rule of thumb about the lager time frame being double of that for ales. If your ales typically finish fermenting in 7–10 days, 2–3 weeks is a good estimate for a lager.
