Why? The weight of the Supra comes from the brass material of the entire pen, so the Supra’s weight is distributed evenly. For me, that made the heavier Supra more comfortable than some resin pens that weigh less but have most of the weight concentrated in either a brass piston at the top or a metal section. Better balance is better. I’m not sure about the Liliput and a converter. It’s not recommended, but it’s possible one could try the Kaweco silicone squeeze converter. This wasn’t my pen, so I didn’t. 🙂

Fireblu2 is the most balanced frame, with red and blue having the same weight (creating that beautiful contrasting piece we all love). Fireblu1 is more pushed to red, losing a bit of its eccentricity. I would say that Fireblu2 represents better the whole texture, so I agree it's the better frame. However Fireblu1 have an important role to the glowing aspect of the animation, thanks to the use of darker and brighter tones in contrast to the pale aspect of Fireblu2. So both have it's own value.

Aesthetics are subjective, but I think the Supra is beautiful. Extended it’s nicely proportioned, and the larger nib size balances the size of the pen. The sleek shape is enhanced by the understated markings.

I know that this is a bit of a zombie post, but I would recommend adding something about how different cleaning materials might react with different pen materials (ammonia, isopropol alcohol, etc).It would be unfortunate to see a beautiful pen damaged or dissolved by cleaning with the wrong supplies (especially since you mentioned that your friend was a "clean-freak". This is the interesting part of the story... blue coloring by annealing is well known to all the watch aficionados out there. Parts of the movement or the hands of the watch are blued by heating. Different temperatures resulting in different colors of the workpiece. And exactly this is how it works with the Liliput: In the process of annealing heat is applied for each Fireblue piece individually by manual labor. In color matching caps, bodies and sections are put together afterwards so every single Liliput Fireblue is one of a kind. Lately I've been interested in the compact size & the various new iterations of the Liliput. The screw in nib-units are a great feature of this diminutive Kaweco.

It’s nearly big enough for that! They’d just need to tweak the design to add the second nib. Hmmmm. 🤔 Would it be possible to preserve the unique look by means of a few layers of durable transparent lacquer or something like that? Posting the full Supra pen makes it the same length as a Pilot Parallel pen – a bit over 15cm (6.5 inches). While the pen still felt balanced at this point, it felt incredible awkward. Why would I possibly want to change your subjective opinion about something so completely irrelevant?
