The lens comes with protective film so make sure to remove it before the first use. An anti-relective(AR) coating allows for maximum light throught he hardened mineral-glass lens. Measurement disclaimer: Testing flashlights is my hobby. I use hobbyist-level equipment for testing, including some I made myself. Try not to get buried in the details of manufacturer specifications versus measurements recorded here; A certain amount of difference (say, 10 or 15%) is perfectly reasonable. What’s Included Imalent camping torches are well-built and rated IPX8 for water and dust resistance. They are using high-capacity rechargeable Li-ion batteries and can be easily replaced for fast charging if you travel a lot. That is actually quite impressive. There was a slight mist in the air so it may have been possible to hit the 7th peer(490 meters) in optimum conditions.

First – this is a phenomenally glossy box, and as such is ridiculously hard to photograph correctly on a white field. It’s probably possible, but my photography skills probably need some work first! Please also disregard any fingerprints on the box…
Final thoughts
Middle II (the third-highest mode) follows the output curve just as the others have. (I scaled this graph to the “High” graph.) With the light on, when the remaining battery voltage is less than 3.0V, the light will flash at 2Hz to remind users to swap or charge the batteries. The flashlight is rechargeable via a magnetic charging port on the side of the torch, for fast and convenient recharging without having to remove the batteries or use a separate external charger. The MS06 has a battery indicator which shows green when the batteries are at full capacity, red when the power is low and flashing red when the batteries are nearly fully depleted. When the torch is being charged, the indicator will glow red and change to green when fully charged. A bright LED flashlight like the MS06 is always needed for a variety of applications, and you'd want a reliable flashlight with a certain degree of waterproofing and impact resistance, with a durable aerospace-grade aluminum body with a type 3 anodized finish, MS06 is designed to meet IPX-8 rated waterproof standard and 1.5-meter drop resistance.

Imalent torches generally come with a holster or a lanyard, they improve the portability of these torches as you can mount them on your belt, bigger torches like the Imalent MS18 have a specialized shoulder strap for maximum portability. No electronic connection between fans and flashlight, meaning they don’t activate at certain brightness leve/ heat level The MS06 is a lumen monster not an artsy collectible. This thing doesn’t have “show muscle”, it’s got “ go muscle.” Pound for pound this light punches way above its class. On the side there is also an opening for inserting the supplied cord. The head has an irregularly shaped design that partially restrains rolling. Lux Meter: For lumen readings and runtimes, an Adafruit TSL2591 connected to a Raspberry Pi running Ubuntu, using RuTiTe by bmengineer in a custom sphere (build document coming soon, when I have some more time). A UNI-T UT383S is used for candela readings. An Adafruit MCP9808 rounds out the list for temperature monitoring.
What I’d change
The torch at the highest powers heats a lot, but this was to be expected given the minimum dimensions with the length of only 119mm. Excellent alluvial beam that allows a good vision even with low levels starting to illuminate adjacent to the feet. The Imalent MS06’s spec sheet claims a beam throw distance of 513 meters. To test this in the real world I took the light under a large highway bridge. The beam was able to reach the sixth peer. According to Google Earth that is approximately the sixth peer was 400 meters away.

What I like
I’d love to see a little more smooth finish when it comes to anodization, and smoother edges to make it look a little higher-end. And I wouldn’t complain if it had a stainless steel bezel either :–)

Conclusion about the Imalent MS06 Flashlight What I like To ensure a high performance and optimum user experience, the Imalent MS06 has a built-in temperature thermal control module which will automatically adjust the brightness level toensure the safety of the user and the LEDs. I can’t emphasize using this feature enough. I review very high power flashlights and they can all light paper on fire very easily. The hold and feel of this flashlight are very good. The light is tiny, it is smaller than expected. You can see this in the size comparison pictures later in this review. It is even shorter than a Convoy S2+, which is a standard 18650 style flashlight!
