About this deal

When it comes to learning the gender of objects, just think of the words as being split into two arbitrary groups: masculine and feminine. When you know which group the word is in, it will help you make decisions about the grammar, like whether to use the word “ un” or “ una”. One of the best things about learning Italian is that a lot of the words are very similar to English. In fact, when you start learning it, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to notice that you can already say loads of Italian wordsby simply saying English words in a hammy Italian accent. Similare (pronounced sim-ill-ar-ray) is one example – no prizes for guessing what itmeans!

Aka, give food and entertainment to the people and the people will be happy. Hence, the gladiators, to keep the “ordinary” crowd quiet. If they are having fun and their tummies are full, then they won’t ask questions. Nouns beginning with s+ a consonant, z, ps, pn, gn,or y(as in specchio, stivale, scienziato, zaino, psicologo, pneumatico, gnomo, and yogurt)O in Italian is either of the two: an open O sound like doe or store and a second one like hog or bot. Just remember that in Italian, unlike in English, the o sound is made without rounding your lips too much towards the end of the o. Whether in the supermarket, the shopping centre or the local farmer’s market you’re going to want to buy things at some point or another! z/ - use the z sound when the s is sandwiched between two vowels or when it comes before the letters b, d, g, l, m, n, r, and v. Examples: raso, posa, sgabello, svelto.

Let’s start by getting familiar with the Italian alphabet. As you can notice, it’s exactly the same as the English alphabet, but fewer letters. So--YAY! Notice that most of the idiomatic expressions with avereare translated with the verb to bein English. When you start speaking a language, it’s normal to have communication breakdowns, for example, when you don’t know a word, or when you don’t understand what someone just said.Permesso? (pehr- mehs-soh) (Excuse me — when walking through a crowded train compartment; also, “May I come in?” when crossing the threshold of someone’s house.) all aspects of this popular language • The content appeals to students, travelers, and businesspeople who visit Italian-speaking countries On the other hand, if you’re excited about learning Italian, that enthusiasm will pull you to your desk, even on days when you don’t really feel like it.
