About this deal

This is NOT the review of the movies. I am solely reviewing the facts that what EXTRA you get in this set than the previous editions. I will start with very basic facts for those who are baffled by so many editions being out there. trilogy) on the format as a complete set that includes the theatrical and extended cuts of each film. This surprise holiday The Extended Editions of the Lord of the Rings movies are legendary among the canon of home video releases, and rightfully so. They boast “deleted scenes” fully integrated with the films themselves (so big you have to swap discs halfway through, like a VHS copy of Titanic or a 1990s video game), complete with fully treated special effects and a restrung score. Finished with the movie? There are dozens of hours of cast and crew interviews about the techniques used to make the film and the friendships forged on set — enough behind-the-scenes adventures for their own trilogy. In the middle chapter of this historic movie trilogy, the Fellowship is broken, but its quest to destroy the One Ring continues.

documentaries and featurettes included here again on creaky old bonus DVDs. Hey, it's better than nothing -- the so-called "Ultimate Colorized movies? I agreed until seeing Legend Films and what they did to "It's A Wonderful Life"; "IT Came From Beneath The Sea"; "Earth VS The Flying Saucers"; "20 Million Miles To Earth"& The 3 Stooges. Looks like they were shot on Kodachrome and was most impressed by the final results. My daughter will never know the b/w version of Wonderful Life, so that should lift your spirits. Let's get straight to-the-point. Now, many of you may as well own the DVD versions of LOTR (Either Theatrical or Extended ot both), and if you are trying to make a decision whether to spend more money on this blu ray extended, here is the comparison-Since these remastered Extended Edition Blu-rays include the same new Dolby Atmos mixes as their 4K counterparts, separate evaluations of each one filmouts (with digital VFX upscaled from 2K elements), as well as tasteful new color timing made possible by HDR enhancement; all were supervised release tests the waters as a nine-disc "movies only" edition, with each theatrical cut getting a triple-layer 100GB disc to itself and the extended cuts option is perhaps the closest thing to an actual upgrade rather than a side-step. The 1080p transfers (soured from the same new masters as the 4K

extensive DVD-era extras are included on this 4K-only set, although a more complete collection is planned for release in 2021 with brand-new bonus Extended Edition Blu-ray boxed set, and the whopping Middle Earth Ultimate Collector's Edition) are each a little disappointing in one way or another, this Furthermore, the price point for this collection is incredibly reasonable considering the sheer quantity of content included. It's evident that a lot of care went into this release, valuing customer satisfaction above all else. The tremendous design work that went into the costumes, weapons and set dressing finally gets a proper showcase for the home audience; the detail and definition on these discs is superb. As with the extended DVD editions, the films have been split over two discs, so no information has been lost in compression. The result is a colorful, sublime presentation not seen since these films were in theaters, maybe not even then. Following the devastating loss of our home last year, my spouse and I have been gradually reconstructing our lives. As the saying goes, patience pays off, and we were joyful when we could once again amass a collection of DVDs. The delight I witnessed when I surprised my husband with this special edition of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy cannot be adequately put into words.

But when I’m sitting down for an all-day marathon, I want the tighter, better version of the movie, the one that’s engineered as a cohesive cinematic story rather than a collection of translated scenes. The Extended Editions brought LotR home It’s not a story of heroes or superheroes,” he says. “It’s a story of regular people who set out to save their world.” Extra feature DVDs (2 for each movie) are the SAME as those of DVD editions. In fact, the DVDs are identical when I do head-to-head comparison. These DVDs are pulled straight from the older DVD editions, nothing new added there. Once again, don’t forget that in addition to the films, you also get a Movies Anywhere Digital Copy code, which should be good for all three films in both versions in 4K. But don’t get rid of your previous Blu-ray and/or DVD editions if you wish to retain all of the extras, The Appendices, and other bonus features (because you won’t find any of that content here). All 3 Extended Versions on newly remastered Blu-ray Discs. This 15-disc set included the original 9 special-features DVDs with over 26 hours of spellbinding behind-the-moviemaking material, including the Costa Botes documentaries.
