Chris has been honoured with an OBE in recognition of his illustration and charity work.Chris lives in Brighton with his family. The main characters are Ottoline and her friend Mr Munroe, who is a bog-creature from Norway. The story is enhanced through the beautiful illustrations. They provide lots of details that are important to the story. The story is about a crime mystery and how Ottoline and Mr Munroe solve it. Miss Ottoline Brown and Mr. Munroe go undercover in this beautifully-illustrated first story in the much-loved Ottoline series from Chris Riddell. Things were going fine until they discover that many dogs had just disappeared, the pet owners were distraught and the police utterly baffled. Who could be behind it all? Then they discover that a slinky, intelligent cat has a pet lending Agency, could the two events be tied up? Chris Riddell was born in Cape Town, South Africa, where his father was an Anglican priest and a member of the ANC. The family moved to England in 1963, when Riddell was one year old, and he spent his childhood in a number of different locations, as his father moved between parishes. Both of Riddell's parents continued to be active in the anti-apartheid movement. A cute story about a young girl named Ottoline Brown who lives with Mr. Monroe, a small and hairy creature from a bog in Norway. Her parents are away from home, travelling the world. Occasionally they send their daughter a postcard. The pair solve a mystery involving missing jewels, missing lap dogs and a mysterious yellow cat.

Ottoline lives with her hairy companion Mr Munroe, on the 24th floor of the Pepperpot Building. Her parents travel the world collecting interesting things but do ensure she is looked after by the Home Cooked Meal Co. and Smith&Smith Pillow Plumping Technicians. Ottoline feels especially lonely when she receives those pretty postcards from Ma and Pa but she does have fun supervising all the Service people when they work. The drawings are amazing and the series is funny. It speaks to younger and older readers, but is probably more suitable for ages 5-10. Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing -Riddell's illustrations have a complexity similar to Elenor Davis's The Secret Science Alliance and the Copycat Crook with a style that is reminiscent of Edward Gorey and Ian Falconer. I liked Mr Monroe's character the best because of his big hair, which reminded me of Cousin It from the Adams Family. He was very brave for going to the top of Pepperpot Tower to look out into the rain. This was a great book because it had a really sneaky cat and she stole jewels from peoples houses and hid them under the floorboards Mr Munroe then found them.

Shortlisted for the prestigious 2008 Kate Greenaway Medal. A glorious adventure fantasy told in words and loads of Chris Riddell’s fabulous pictures, this tells how Ottoline, who loves solving puzzles, and her friend Mr Munro, a cat with a distinct personality and a number of foibles, set out to resolve the mystery of the lapdogs who are being stolen from all over town. A beautiful book to read or even just to hold. The latest Ottoline story is just out as well - Ottoline goes to School. Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical MomentsUpustite se u avanturu sa Otolinom i njenim dlakavim prijateljem Gospodinom Monroom. Zavirite u njen prelepi dom, uživajte u kolekciji njenih roditelja i učite se savršenom prerušavanju. This is my third favourite book in the Ottoline series but the first in the series. Since I love yellow and cats it's really perfect for me! The Bear is a bear found by Ottoline, stealing clothes from other people. He lives in the basement which he says is much cosier than his cave. He is taking a holiday instead of hibernating. The Bear's secret is kept by Ottoline, and he keeps quiet about Ottoline eavesdropping on other people. He dresses up as Lady Ursula Jansen-Smith, to try and buy "Bimby" (Mr Munroe) from the Yellow Cat. He appears at the end, hugging the Yellow Cat to try and stop her from escaping. It is hinted in Ottoline's parent's letter that the Bear lives with Ottoline and Mr Munroe after being found. The Bear is not like a stereotypical bear, and he is actually quite nice. He lived in the laundry room and stole clothes from other people.
