This doesn't mean it's bad in games by any means, just because the FR isn't perfect for FPS it still holds up better than most gaming headsets in that regard. In a way, yes. But in another way, no. There's a little bit of history between the brand names and how it's all come to be under just the EPOS name now, but the bottom line is that Sennheiser's gaming audio has been folded into EPOS now - and the pedigree remains there. Long, drawn-out gaming sessions aren’t a hassle at all with these thanks to their generously padded, well-spaced ear cups and they present an overall build that’s solid and definitely built to last.

There's a surprising oomph to the bass response on these headphones, and that's not what I'd have guessed these would've sounded like before I put them on. There's still tons of that typical Sennheiser definition in the high-end, but right the way through the mids and bass there's a well-defined response. Thus, if you're really keen to get some Sennheiser audio quality into your setup but can't stretch to the larger price tags of the more premium headsets, then the GSP 300 is the right choice. Its compatibility with every device is a major plus, while it retains the Sennheiser excellence in audio (detailed sound, excellent surround/directional accuracy, and great overall richness). Its microphone is good too, though this won't be great for mobile players or for the commute as the mic is non-detachable and a little wobbly on the design front. The latter being a little weak point on the headset overall, actually, as it feels a bit wobbly in the hands. Weirdly the FR isn't tuned to either of the 2 traditional ways gaming headsets are tuned. It’s not v-shaped for immersive fun and it doesn't really have any tuning quirks of a competitive fps headset. It's not bright, it doesn't have slightly forward mids, there is no big bass roll-off. In the studio, on the stage, or behind the camera — there’s a reason professionals have turned to Sennheiser microphones and headphones for more than 75 years. But so long as you're not ultra-sensitive to clamp it's comfortable and gets better as it breaks in. If you have ever worn another Sennheiser headphone you will know what to expect. The HD500 series and PC37x are very well regarded as being very comfortable, which for myself it's not that comfortable, it does ease up over time. The conclusion is fairly simple. This is simply the best gaming headset on the market. If all you care about is performance in games (mostly fps) then this is an easy buy. Even in terms of just gaming for fun, it does fairly well because of its great neutral tuning. So both are good, the PC37x is an easier pill to swallow at its full price, while the PC38x needs to be on sale or you need to be willing to pay a tad more for a pure upgrade. The build is your standard HD500 series headphone. All plastic, the plastic does feel slightly cheap but as time as shown with the HD500 series and the PC37x/Game One. They hold up fairly well. The only place I’d worry about is the Yolk which is a tad thin and may not survive being poorly taken care of.

Both cables (the shorter console cable and the longer PC cable) are made the same and there mostly the same as the PC37x cable. Soundstaging was a strength in the PC360, as well as the GAME ONE/PC37X, and I would've been incredibly surprised if the PC38X failed to deliver on a solid, open soundstage set by its predecessors. Thankfully, my expectations were happily met. Even in stereo, the PC38X sounds fantastically spacious, and holds plenty of air to allow objects in the virtual space to fill the room. The spacious soundstage, sharp details, great tonal balancing, top notch extension both down low and up top make the PC38X a prime candidate for best gaming headset. In virtual surround, the PC38X is among the very best I've heard for accuracy, positional awareness, and object definition. Testing something like Call of Duty's Warzone with both Dolby Headphone 2, and Creative's SBX, I was extremely aware of where all my enemies were coming from, and where all the loot was in my general vicinity. For the PC38X, it's a very simple matter. Just stellar positional cues, soundstage depth, and great imaging. Rest assured, the PC38X is a monster for gaming. You can't do wrong here in choosing the PC38X for all your gaming needs. A change from the previously used velour pads on the older headsets, the PC38X uses a denser foam padding covered in different fabric material. If I could make an educated guess based on subjective listening impressions, the pads seem to allow the PC38X to retain more of the low end bass decay compared to the velour pads that are also included with the PC38X as spare pads. I use this primarily with my PS5, plugged into the controller, and it works really well. One thing to note is that the cable comes with a L-shaped plug, which is not the most convenient when plugged into the controller, but it's not a big deal.

I now that sound is very specific for everyone but since you guys know a bit more then i do, i was looking for some inupts.

At this stage there isn't a lot to say about the standard Sennheiser gaming mic, it is getting a little dated but still performs very well for a gaming mic, but moving forward it should be improved, or at least a foam pop filter should be added to help with plosives and wind noise.
