That said, we have included it in this guide as an inexpensive 'faff-free' star projector, though as we discussed in our BlissLights Starport USB star projector review, we use the term star projector loosely. Pococo Galaxy Star ProjectorIt does what it is supposed to — it projects high-quality imagery onto any surface to immerse you in the wonders of what the universe has to offer, maintaining a static picture or slowly rotating image.★★★★ The most realistic star projector that projects bright, detailed images of the real night sky. This is a premium projector for all ages. The only thing we didn't like was that it is powered by USB-A to DC cable, which seems a little outdated (we'd prefer USB-C), but aside from that, it would make an excellent gift for any space lover for any occasion.

Ideal for creating a relaxing mood in the home.★★★½ If you're looking for something that is more abstract than scientific but will help 'set the mood,' the BlissLights Sky Lite Evolve is a much cheaper alternative. You can use the RCBW (Red, Cyan, Blue and White) color wheel and seamless color blending technology to personalize the 'aurora' and transform your room. The projector emits bright nebula-inspired patterns and allows users to create unique pastel hues alongside optional LED stars. Controlled by the BlissLights app or by voice using Google/Alexa devices — you don't have to move from your seat to change the feel of your space. The colors of the lights and lasers are vivid, and the dedicated app still affords you many customization options in terms of color mix, speed, timing modes, brightness and so on. Be mindful that the app is connected over Bluetooth and not Wi-Fi, so you have to be pretty near it to make any changes to the settings — if you're looking to control it remotely from a different room (e.g if it's in a child's bedroom and you don't want to disturb them), you'd probably want to consider something that is connected by Wi-Fi. Here we have one of the most reasonably priced star projectors available. Think of it as an educational STEM toy for young budding astronomers rather than anything too sophisticated. The Bliss Lights Sky Lite Evolve would be perfect in a gaming room, during a party, at a movie night or as a relaxation tool to unwind or drift off to sleep with. There are three models in the range — blue, green, or no lasers. There's also a 45-minute or 90-minute sleep timer (that you can also set using the remote), which we found ideal for a child's nursery, as you don't need to go in and risk disturbing the child to turn it off.The same Astro Planetarium Multimedia disks are included — one featuring a starry night sky and the other featuring overlays of constellations, and it's all entirely accurate for the time and day you're using it. A great app-controlled non-scientific star projector that floods the room with lovely color-blended pastel shades.

The lights are bright and vivid, and there is a fair amount of customization, but you'll need to use the supplied remote to access some of the functions (rather than being able to access them using the buttons on the device). Other star projectors on this list, namely the Bliss Lights models, offer more color combinations, but there's more than enough here to entertain yourself and your children. Despite being an inbuilt Bluetooth speaker, which can often be poor quality, it speaker delivered a surprisingly high-quality performance with excellent sound clarity and detail. The adjustable sound settings are a nice bonus, allowing you to customize the sound to your liking and to different genres of music.
