About this deal

Solo Stove offers a hero discount to military members, first responders, medical professionals, and teachers. The company’s commitment to innovation and quality has remained unchanged throughout the years. And most importantly, they’re a member of 1% for the Planet, a program where members donate 1% of their revenue to environmental organizations. What is a Solo Stove Campfire?

It seems like a perfectly portable way to take summer campfires wherever I go which would be it’s biggest benefit. I like how compact it is and the usual fun campfire foods work well using it. Reply It can, but the company recommends giving it some space so that the design can still work. The vent holes need good airflow to keep the low smoke, pretty flame going! They recommend 2+ inches of space around the whole thing so it can get enough ventilation. via J. Lea Recommended accessories for the Solo Stove Bonfire Fire Pit Cleanup: When the fire is high, open flame from the fire comes up to the bottom and around the edges of the pot. This creates a big sooty mess on the bottom and sides of the pot which is very difficult to clean. The photo below below is the bottom of my stainless steel pot after using it on the stove. The flames may also melt or burn plastic insulated handles, especially if the pot is the same size as the stove. This is my cooking pot with soot from the fire on the bottom Plus, the Campfire is a special type of wood-burning stove called a gasifier (or gasification) stove. But why do we need this ring, after all? Basically, we can call it a cooking ring. Its design has three 90°-folded tabs on which you’ll put your camping pot, pan, or camping tea kettle. This way, you’ll leave some space beneath the cooking equipment for better heat and airflow. This ring has a cutout place for putting more fuel through it. Car camping: Not recommended for cooking– While I love the concept of these stoves, they simply don’t fit my style of car camping. I usually stay in established campgrounds where small dry wood is not available. I also use skillets and griddles as often as pots, so the smaller size stoves simply don’t work well for me. Lastly, the cleanup just is just too much work for this setting. Once the fire builds up you can easily see that the flames come up around the side of the pot. These flames could easily melt or burn plastic insulated handles, so you want to be careful what pots you cook with on the stove. The handle will also get hot so be sure you have something to grab to the handle with without burning your hand. The rest of the air gets pulled through the double-walled design and gets shot out towards the top.

Does the Solo Stove Campfire really live up to its name? Can it really replace a traditional campfire in some situations? Thanks for your review on the Solo Fire Pit. My question is when the fire is going is the steel outside hot if it’s touched? I’ve since used Solo Stove’s cooking accessories. In particular their grill and pizza oven. Both have been fun accessories to use during gatherings and the only con of getting them is the storage space they take up when not in use. I would love to have one o f these to try out on our camping adventures here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Reply Yes! If you compare it to the normal wood-burning fire pits or fire rings at a campground (the ones that are like 3 feet high) the warmth is similar if not better. I actually had to give it a little more space than I’m used to because it’s so hot!

For Comparison: The tiny Solo Stove Lite weighs just 9 oz and the mid-size Tian weighs 16.5 ounces. Probably the closest gas-powered stove for comparison is the Coleman Portable Bottletop Camp Stove. After years of use and testing for my Solo Stove review, I can safely say the Solo Stove fire pit doesn’t produce much smoke. You’ll enjoy a campfire without the associated coughing and eye-watering that comes with smokey fires. It’s also effortless to clean up after enjoying a fire because you’re only left with a bit of white ash at the bottom. What It Does Worst The Solo Stove Pot 4000 has a whopping 4000ml capacity (4.22 quarts)! That makes it perfect for one-pot family camp meals. We really wish there was an easy way to dump the ash after we’re done, such as a removable ash pan that could slide out. We wanted to dump the ash into a hole before we left, but it was a little difficult to get the ash out of the stove since you have to dump the whole thing. Depending on the pot and how skilled you are at using the stove, once the fire’s going it can boil a quart of water in about 5 minutes. You might be able to shave a few seconds off that time if you’ve got really dry fuel.
