About this deal

This book is all the more special due to E.H.Shepard’s decorations, which are shown in full, glorious colour. They are truly iconic and contributed to him being known as ‘the man who drew Pooh’. I've never read any Winnie-the-Pooh books but am extremely aware of what it's about. These are poems from the same author and they are extremely hit-and-miss, but those that hit are utterly wonderful. Ian Hamilton (1994). The Oxford companion to twentieth-century poetry in English. Oxford University Press. p. 357. ISBN 978-0-19-866147-4. The nation’s favourite teddy bear has been delighting generations of children for over 95 years. Milne’s classic children’s stories – featuring Piglet, Eeyore, Christopher Robin and, of course, Pooh himself – are gently humorous while teaching lessons about friendship and kindness. The Christopher Robin Story Book from 'when We Were Very Young', 'now We Are Six', 'winnie-The-Pooh', and 'the House At Pooh Corner' deaurider, David Wilson and the Online Distributed Proofreading Team at https: //www.pgdp.net (This file was produced from images generously made available by The Internet Archive)

Well either a tail is there or it isn’t there. You can’t make a mistake about it, and yours isn’t there!” Use italics (lyric) and bold (lyric) to distinguish between different vocalists in the same song part The only hardcover edition of Roald Dahl’s stories for adults, the Collected Stories amply showcases his singular gifts as a fabulist and a born storyteller.

I wasn't a huge fan of the poems, actually, so that really made the reading a bit tough to enjoy. I also wasn't completely enamored with the illustrations. They were well done, don't get me wrong, they just weren't my style or something that really appealed to me. But among the 44 poems in this book, I remember I read some like “Jonathan Joe” and I thought I liked it because of the relationship between Jonathan and his grandpa. I remember I could not understand “Little Bo-Peep and Little Boy Blue” like who between the two lost the sheep and how they ended up marrying each other. “What’s marry?” I remember asking my sister and I thought marrying was like the two of us being together most of the time. Among her 3 brothers, I am the one closest to my sister so she is always ready to lend me money even up to now ha ha. Extraordinarily funny and cute, When We Were Very Young features a variety of poems by A. A. Milne. One of them first introduces us to Winnie-the-Pooh. I am 44 years old and used to read this poem to my sons every night, even the many nights I went without knowing where they were because their father kidnapped them, 11 months. They are not 22 and 26, one (oldest) married, both of them given every opportunity that myself and their step father for 12 years now, to have the education to stand on their own two feet. My health for almost 6 years now has been very hard on me physically, emotionally and just how I feel about my self image. My kids have not seen me in years and although they know, I have very serious health issues, more biopsies, test and just pray that it all gets figured out, at the rate it is going, I am declining more and more each day, especially emotionally. It breaks my heart and hurts more then anything else ever in my life so far that my sons have no intention to support me emotionally and for the most part, do not care what the stress they caused for months now, just because I wanted to share my feelings, they have chosen to tear me apart and remove every part of them from my life......they want all the pictures I have, as I told them, pictures are for memories, at I hold each and every moment caught with them throughout their lives, vivid and burned in my mind, heart and soul. I have done all I can and just needed to find this poem, prayer I said with them and when they were not around. I never saw this coming and I pray that one day soon they will realize that I am their mother, a mother who would give my very life for them. A mother who will never give up, and await for the day I can share this poem/prayer with them again. Until then, I will continue to say each night no matter what. I hope that God will see fit, that I will get the opportunity to get better and have all, 4 (2 step sons), raised since they were 3 and 5, now 15 and 17, in my life and my husbands life being happy, supportive and understanding of each of our needs.....our boys for get, we as parents, we have needs too and there comes a time when life throws a boulder that we are not prepared for. To my sons, John J. O'Mahony III, Christopher M. O'Mahony, Brian A. Germani and Josh L. Germani, we love you all and want you all to be healthy, happy and a part of our lives forever. Pass this poem/prayer down to your children, this is very special to me and I thank you for sharing this part of your life with my life. This looks like a terrific book for young children. They will enjoy the rhythm of the poems and the lively illustrations.
