About this deal

They offer 4 different color combinations which fit the normal combos: Blue, Red, Green and grey. Battery Life They cut away bulk and utilized titanium where they could to fit more securely and increase sound quality. The Trekz Air products were inspired due to the needs and requirements of elite athletes who are wanting to bring music into their world. If you're a proud owner of Air, Aeropex, or Titanium headphones, then you probably already know that they're equipped with a multipoint pairing feature -- a fun little perk that previous models didn’t have. The Air and Titanium both offer the exact same audio quality and battery life in my extensive testing. The major difference between the models is a thinner, lighter band on the Air that some users prefer. Also, the beep when adjusting the volume is significantly louder on the newer Air model—enough so that I found it a bit painful. These are best used with the headphones’ earplug mode, which lowers the volume reduces the bass significantly, compensating for the effect of closing your ear canals (sounds transmitted through bone conduction always sound deeper, and with earplugs you’re not hearing any ‘leaking’). Vocal booster mode, on the other hand, boosts the higher frequencies.

Overall, the headphones are designed for their purpose. Their lightweight build allows them to be comfortable and the headband design which wraps around the ears provides a secure fit as well. The AfterShokz Trekz Air are headphones for a very specific user, someone that wants to be able to listen to music or podcasts but needs to be fully aware of their surroundings. I think this makes the headphones great for those that do outdoor sports such as running or cycling as they allow you to listen to music but also be safe and allow you to have additional situational awareness in comparison to what a standard pair of headphones or earbuds would give you. The headphones have a niche audience, but perform well at what they set out to do. Redesigned Open-Fit - Although AfterShokz Air feature a lightweight wraparound titanium frame that weighs in at only 30g grams, Aeropex boasts our lightest design yet, totaling at just 26 grams. Aeropex headphones also feature a redesigned transducer for minimized vibrations and a more snug fit. I found the immersion of the headphones to be fantastic. As the headphones sit around your ears, the sound is also coming in from around your ears, not from within your ears, so the stereo listening experience is quite fantastic as it sounds like the music is around you. I found the volume to be good for my use-case, listening at around 50-60% although I could see the possibility of some users wanting a little more headroom if they are in a noisy environment. The headphones provide a new “premium pitch plus” ability which gives the user a better premium audio experience, including wide dynamic range and rich bass.Re-enter the pairing process. Press and hold the power/volume up button until the voice assistant says, “Pairing.” Wait for the LED to flash red and blue. AfterShokz's bone-conduction design is also a significant functional improvement for people who need to keep paying attention to their surroundings. With unobstructed ears, it's much easier to converse with those around you, notice important traffic cues while jogging or riding a bicycle, and so forth.

First and foremost, these headphones are no match for a pair of in-ear earbuds, they will provide far better sound quality than these headphones – but these headphones have a specific purpose because of how they sound. Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to try other bone conduction headphones, so this is my perspective of these headphones as someone who is predominantly a user of regular-style headphones and earbuds. When you want to disable Bluetooth multipoint, press and hold the multi-function and volume up buttons for 3 seconds. The voice prompt will say,

Frequently asked questions about the AfterShokz Air

In your first device’s Bluetooth settings, select your AfterShokz headphones model. Audrey will say "Connected." The headphones are one of AfterShokz more affordable options, so the features are a little limited in comparison to some of their higher-end models. The headphones feature a Bluetooth 4.2 connection, which I would like to see be updated to Bluetooth 5.0 in a future revision of these headphones. The headphones also feature an IP55 dust and water resistance rating which makes them great for use during exercise. Ear plugs and a carrying case are also included. As you might expect, it's also possible to take hands-free calls on the Trekz Air. For that particular feature, each speaker comes equipped with noise canceling microphones to lessen ambient noise during calls to make voices as clear as possible. Performance Although the Air does feel perceptibly lighter than the Titanium, it felt less adjustable. When wearing either of the headphones for longer than two or three hours continuously, some users will want to occasionally shift the pressure point of the headset to minimize irritation. I found a greater range of positions in which the Titanium could be successfully used, which in turn made it a better choice for long-term comfort than the Air model. Paired with the quieter volume adjustment beep, that made the Titanium the better choice for me. The AfterShokz Trekz Air are next generation in style and weight of bone conduction technology. AfterShokz designed these as the lightest and most organically designed open ear headphones to date.

The headphones have clear high-end frequency sound, which makes vocals sound great and the headphones great if you listen to a lot of spoken word content or listen to podcasts. The mid frequencies also sound good, but I do wish that they were a little more pronounced, unfortunately, there’s no companion app for these headphones but you could adjust the EQ in your music app of choice. Press and hold the multifunction button and power/volume+ button at the same time for 2-3 seconds. Audrey will say "Multipoint Enabled." The OpenFit design of the headphones allows you to be fully aware of your surroundings as they do not obstruct or sit within your ears, making them great for use during outdoor sports or exercise, such as running or cycling, or if you need to be aware of your surroundings during work. Despite the open design of the headphones, sound leakage is minimal with only the high end of a song being audible from close-by. The headphones allow you to remain aware of your surroundings. Press and hold the multi-function button and power/volume up button simultaneously for 3 seconds. The voice prompt will say, “Multipoint enabled.”This means that if you get caught in the rain during the last mile of a run or drop them in the water while you’re kayaking, they’ll still be a-ok. While we wouldn’t recommend Aeropex for swimming(that’s where our Xtrainerz come in), they fit a wide variety of activities. They are charged via USB-C . This is a welcome change from older headsets’ micro-USB charging, as it means you don’t need to carry separate cables for your phone and headset. Audio quality The AfterShokz Trekz Air feature up to 6 hours of listening on a single charge, although this will vary depending on your listening conditions and volume. When it comes to charging up the headphones, that is done over a micro-USB connection and will take around two hours. It’s a shame to see that there is no fast-charging capability or USB Type-C connectivity on these headphones, although that could be added in a future revision if AfterShokz updates the headphones. Conclusion Enjoy up to six hours of continuous music along with calls on a single full charge, or 20 days of standby time. To charge the Trekz Air to maximum life takes approximately 2 hours.
