About this deal

Hostiles in grey plastic: Obsidius Mallex, Chaos Lord; 2 Chaos Space Marines of the Servants of the Abyss; 4 Chaos Beastmen; 4 Ur-Ghuls; 4 Negavolt Cultists; 2 Rogue Psykers; 4 Spindle Drones and 14 Traitor Guardsmen. [2] Though the identity of the builders of these technical marvels remains a mystery, it has been suggested by certain Imperial savants that they were constructed by the Old Ones or the Aeldari for use in their ancient war with the Necrons. Indeed they are obliquely mentioned in Aeldari Mythology as the "Talismans of Vaul," objects of great fear and revulsion. Teamwork has never been more important, now that you’ll have to face down powerful new enemies. These new explorers offer additional opportunities to work together and enhance the entire team, including the original adventurers. Deadly Threats Borewyrm Infestations also share the Ambull’s Rapid Tunnelling ability and are harder to target with ranged weapons by virtue of their size. Ambulls and Borewyrm Infestations are perfect for narrative or open play, though we’ve included points if that’s how you like to balance your games. That got us thinking about some cool ideas for missions that could feature these fearsome creatures. Here are just a few: Cultist Firebrands are absolutely deadly at mid-range, and they also inflame the zeal of nearby Cultist hostiles. Their bodies are swollen with infernal power… so let’s just say you don’t want to be standing close to one when they’re killed…

This would mean that the actual weapons forged in ancient times by the Old Ones informed the subsequent myth of the Aeldari War in Heaven.Abaddon the Despoiler first learned of the Fortresses sometime in M40, where he was guided by the visions of Zaraphiston to an Eldar Crone World. There, he read an ancient prophecy revealing their existence. Some of the other Cultists are equipped with heavier weaponry, including grenade launchers and heavy stubbers, to make you pay dearly for every inch you advance into their demesne.

With both of these new characters being so dangerous when they’re up-close and personal, you’re going to want to try and take them out at range. That might be easier said than done with the Ogryn, though, as the hulking brute has 12 wounds. Seriously, keep him at a safe distance! Traveling to the Fortress itself requires a small and nimble vessel. Near the structure is a small way-station known as Precipice, inhabited by a ragtag crew of explorers and scavengers from across the galaxy and consisting of a variety of races. Introducing: The Dreaded Ambull

The expansions have added characters and creatures from across the Warhammer 40,00 universe, from Chaos Cultists and the Ambull to the Zoat and Imperial Navigator Espern Locarno, all of which can be used in the miniatures game. Its massive remains were flung from orbit onto the surface of Cadia as an artificial meteor, its kinetic impact killing most of Cadia's remaining defenders and at last allowing the Eye of Terror to swallow the world. The geothermal stress caused by the fortress' impact ultimately caused Cadia to rip itself apart. Each of these explorers offers fresh new ways to play the game. Rogue Trader Murad, for instance, is a gunslinger with paired ‘negotiating’ pistols that unleash a deadly fusillade of shots with unerring accuracy. He’s also able to ‘motivate’ any Traitor Guardsmen that are nearby with his unique action Execute the Weak.
