About this deal

The Mega Complicated Crushes of Lottie Brooks is the third book in the hilarious and relatable bestselling series from the creator of Hurrah for Gin. It’s about stuff that actually could happen to somebody’ … Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Photograph: Donna Ferguson Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney My 9-year-old daughter devoured it in two nights, and all I could hear from her was giggling and the occasional "Mum! Listen to this! This is SO me!".

The Lottie Brooks books by Katie Kirby are hugely popular with preteen readers. This hilarious illustrated series explores the daily ups and downs of growing up, including facing puberty, navigating friendships, dealing with first crushes and all of the embarrassing moments that come with handling school and family life. The first book in the hilarious new series for children by the bestselling creator of Hurrah For Gin. Perfect for fans of Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging and Dork Diaries. With this in mind, for World Book Day 2023, we want to help you win at parenting with the best World Book Day costumes. Ana Rosa’s family depends on income from her brother’s job to put food on the table, but her life is far from poor; it is rich with love, friendship, community, music and dance. But when her way of life is threatened by an oppressive government eager to seize their homes, Ana Rosa will realise that in a country where silence is self-defence, her words are as powerful as bullets. My daughter loves this style of book which is written as a diary. Although she loves to read she also loves illustrations and the drawings of Katie Kirby are very funny and help illustrate the book well. My daughter is 10 and I thought she was the perfect age to read the book. It’s funny with lots of laugh out loud moments and we enjoyed reading it together. In fact my daughter loved it so much that we’ve put the first two books on her wishlist!Let's be real, while it's all fun and games for the kids - who get to ditch their uniforms and go to school in fancy dress, the experience can be slightly less fun for you the parents, who have to actually create the costumes. Shakirah Bourne: It is easy to get lost in books with sword-wielding heroes and spellbinding magic, but in The Color of Her Words by Lynne Joseph, authoritarian forces challenge a 12-year-old girl who is armed only with a pencil and notepad, and her journey is just as epic as any fantastical adventure. So obviously, being in my 30s, I'm not the intended audience for the story of Lottie but I feel working in a primary school, especially in a year 6 class, gives me some insights into their mind. And I want to start this review by saying I think all year six girls should read this book before going to senior school. The message of this book is so important and I really think that age group need to hear it. That's why we've rounded up everything you need to know for World Book Day 2023 and all the costume ideas that come with it. When is World Book Day 2023? The school holidays are looming, and with Lottie off camping to France for two weeks and Daniel spending most of the summer on a fancy Greek island it looks as if the young lovebirds will be cruelly ripped apart. But then Lottie makes friends with a French boy called Antoine – the language is an obvious barrier but does it matter when he’s THAT good looking?

Lottie navigates the perils of growing up in this fantastically funny new illustrated series for pre-teens filled with friendship, embarrassing moments and, of course, KitKat Chunkys. From hilarious bestselling author, Katie Kirby, comes a brand-new Lottie Brooks story. This time it's CHRISTMAS!!!
