About this deal

A poorly prepped surface means that your paint job won’t last as long. You will need to make sure that your patio is clean and both grease- and algae-free before you start. Important: Apply only in dry conditions - ideally the coating should avoid rainfall for 2 days where possible. Depending on the colour that you’re painting over and the colour of paint you’re using, you’ll typically need to apply a further 1-2 coats. Next, apply two thin layers of top coat, leaving to dry in between coats. Thin layers ensure that you get a harder, longer-lasting finish. Then leave to dry/cure as instructed — usually 24-48 hours — before walking on the patio again. How Long Will the Paint Last Before It Needs Repainting? EXTERIOR USE - Specially designed for adding a finishing touch to garden patios. Works perfectly on concrete, stone flags and patio paving slabs. The ideal solution for decorating patios, driveways, garden pathways and doorsteps. Suitable for foot traffic only. Our 5 Litre tin covers 55㎡ - We have your patio covered, no matter the size.

Paint Concrete Patios - Painters World The Truth About How To Paint Concrete Patios - Painters World

Currently, greys are all the rage due to their timeless look and ability to work with any given garden scheme. Choose a lighter grey such as Goose Grey for a more modern look or something on the darker side such as Anthracite Grey if you don’t want to worry about the upkeep of the patio so much as it’ll make it difficult to notice as the patio gets dirtier. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY - Water-based paint solution that’s as friendly to the environment as it is on your pets and children. Formulated with non-toxic chemicals, yet still provides a durable, weather-resistant, smooth finish. Once you’ve applied your Pliolite Masonry Paint and you’ve left it for 24 hours to fully harden, you can apply the clear patio sealer. The weather conditions where you live and how often the patio is used will again affect how long before a repaint is needed. An occasionally used patio in a warmer climate with average rainfall will last longer than a heavily used patio in a cold and rainy climate.EASY TO APPLY - For optimal results - apply Polar Etch Primer prior to application. Ensure the patio surface is washed and dry before applying. Dry and warm conditions are advised. Apply 2-3 coats, depending on surface area. Fully dry and weather resistant in 3-4 hours. The patio should start frothing up – this is the acid reacting with alkaline and thus neutralising your patio. My preferred concrete paint, and the one that I’ve tried and tested many times, is Resincoat Outdoor Patio Paint. This concrete flag paint comes in an attractive matt finish which not only looks good but also ensures you don’t make your patio more slippery after painting it thus saving you from potential injuries. First, get a stiff brush to remove any dirt, dust and debris. Then, if your patio is in reasonably good condition, you can just use a jet wash to clean. It’s entirely possible to use regular masonry paint to paint your patio slabs although you will need to take additional steps to ensure it withstands the elements and regular foot traffic.

So with that to hand, give the paint a good stir and then start cutting in along the edges with the masonry brush. It’s best to work in areas of around 1m2 so cut in for 1x1m before using the roller to apply a thin layer of paint within that area. It’s best to use 2 coats of the sealer as that will give your newly painted patio added protection from dirt, oil and rain. Pros and Cons of Painting Concrete Patios Just make sure you prep well and use the right paint to get the maximum out of your painted patio. Is It Worth Painting Patio Slabs? It's important to ensure that the surface is completely clean before the application of the paint. Jet washing should be performed on a fan setting at roughly 30cm distance from surface or with a dedicated rotary patio cleaner. Do not use jet patterns or turbo type lances.
