Live from the Wrap Party is precisely what it sounds like. Recorded at a swingin' bash in October of '89, the footage consists of Julia Roberts, Richard Gere, and Garry Marshall performing "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" before an appreciative crowd (of 30 employees). All this sounds awful, I know, but once Marshall takes us out into the California daylight, things markedly improve. The Rodeo Drive montage is crisp and clear, with bright, vivid colors that really show off the hues and textures of Vivian's new wardrobe. Grass is lushly green as well, and when Vivian and her roommate Kit meet by the hotel pool, the clarity and richness of the close-ups are lovely. The final scene on the tenement fire escape also looks quite good, but can't quite erase from my mind the litany of previous problem issues.

An attraction developes between the two, and Edward finds it harder and harder to let the infectious, kind-hearted Vivian go. During the scene in which Roberts sang a Prince song in the bathtub, slid down, and submerged her head under the bubbles; she emerged to find the crew had left except for the cameraman, who captured the moment on film. In the love scene, she was so stressed that a vein became noticeable on her forehead and had to be massaged by Marshall and Gere. Pretty Woman is a 1990 American romantic comedy film directed by Garry Marshall, from a screenplay by J.F. Lawton.
