You can create dark and thin lines with this pencil due to its hardness level, which falls towards the end of the hardness scale. Since the highest number on the B-grade pencils is 9, it means that 9B is the softest and darkest graphite pencil and they are great pencils for darkest shades. From here, people began wrapping graphite in string and later began inserting the graphite into wooden sticks, which is how the pencil was created. If you are looking for a fine pencil that can give you even shading and fine lines, then the 4H grade pencil is the one to use.The H pencils can all produce thin lines and fine points, while the B pencils can produce dark shade and thick lines. Without having the blackness scale in front of your eyes or knowing it completely, it's difficult to really understand what an F pencil is. Like other hard graphite lead pencils, 6H pencils work well for preliminary work, as well as for fine line drawings. The point here is that for each effect you want to achieve, and subject you want to accurately portray, there is a type of graphite you should use.

This pencil grade is ideal for sketching where you want only light shades, and can also be used for filling in empty spaces in your project. In this case, I also want to say that the basic B pencil will not be included here because it will be mentioned and dealt with in the third part here. Mikado/Mirado pencils were originally made by Eagle Pencil Company – today Berol – but can also be found today under the trademark Papermate and Sanford as Sanford owns Berol and the trademark Papermate Brandnamepencils.
